Thursday Things

Well dear friends, it is Thursday. This week has felt way too long and yesterday I was wishing it was the weekend already. Didn't help that people at the gym were telling me to have a good weekend - when I plan on going to the gym between now and the beginning of my weekend. Stupid gym people.

Anyways, let's get this show on the road shall we? This is going to be a picture heavy Thursday Things, because I want it to be, so just deal with it okay? Okay.

• I have to go to the dentist today to get four cavities filled. I AM NOT excited about this in the slightest. I have shared my dislike for the dentist before and nothing has changed since last time. 

• There is a lot going on in the next few days. I am excited for my plans!

• For example, tonight (after the dentist) I'll probably stop by for the end of movie night and then go dancing. Unless I feel like I'm going to die because of the dentist. We shall see.

• Tomorrow night a bunch of friends and I are going up the canyon for a tinfoil dinner and dutch oven dessert extravaganza. I am SO excited. I'm hoping that the area looks a lot like this:

• Saturday consists of the 181st Semi-Annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I get to go to the afternoon session with some people from my ward. I am so excited! I just love conference! If you are curious, there are many, many ways to participate. Check this out to find out more!

• Also on Saturday a bunch of my former roommates are getting together for a girl's night party. I'm rather excited to see everyone again.

• Another thing that is probably happening on Saturday - hanging out with Grizzly Bear per his suggestion. Will he step it up? Maybe. we'll see.

• Sunday is going to be filled with more General Conference AND I get to sing outside of the conference center in the afternoon. I'm very excited for that too.

• I think I need to make this dessert this weekend. It just looks DIVINE.

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 15th Edition

It's really hard to find something to be grateful for and to see the tender mercies in life when life is getting you down. However, I did have one just yesterday that is perfect considering the situation my poor mouth has put me in.

I haven't been sleeping well, even with the loretab I haven't been able to sleep through the night. However, last night I only woke up once before my alarm clock and it wasn't because of pain but rather because I had to go to the bathroom! I even fell back to sleep quick enough that I got more sleep. I was so happy! I just have to make it through today on limited loretab (I'm at work and work+loretab aren't the best combination - I'm taking half a pill if  any at all) and then half a work day tomorrow before my root canal appointment at the endodontist that I have.

Anyways, I am doing okay even though I'm in pain a lot. I will be so happy to have this taken care of and not giving me any more grief. In other news, stay tuned for reveal of surprise #1 tomorrow morning. I'm rather excited about it. :o)

death is imminent

so, in case you were wondering, my mouth has not gotten any better.  In fact, I'm pretty sure it's worse off right now then it was Friday.

I did, however, finally get a hold of my dentist. I am now on loretab and an antibiotic. here's hoping i can make it until tomorrow morning's dentist appointment.

Also, I hate sitting at home sick all day. it sucks. As much as I love eating jello and pudding and using a straw (although let's face it, I use straws weekly. ;) ), there gets to be a point where I hate eating "sick" food. I am at that point right now. The hard part is that I can't really chew anything. So eating? Yeah, it sucks. But I have to take my drugs with food otherwise I get really sick. :P

Anyways, here's hoping I don't die in the next few days. ugh.

FRIDAY!!!!

Well dear internet friends, we've made it to Friday!  Thank goodness! Although, I just really want the weekend to be over and it to be next week. Part of me doesn't really feel like I'll have much of a weekend - I'm going to be working most of tomorrow. Next week is my Friday off and with the fun plans I have I am very much looking forward to it being next week. huzzah!!

Also, I hardly slept at all last night. My mouth is killing me. I really hope I don't die before Monday. Here's hoping the excedrin I took does better things then the ibuprofin. sigh. Someone have some good drugs you want to share? :o)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Top o'the Mornin' to ya lads and lassies! I hope you're having a lucky day! I also hope you're wearing green! Wouldn't want to get pinched now would we?? :o) Anyways, let's get this party started shall we?

• I love Thursdays. Even when I have to work on Friday, my Thursdays are always fabulous. :o)

• I love the color green. I wear A LOT of green. My problem with St. Patrick's Day isn't "where's some green to wear?" it's more along the lines of "WHAT green-filled outfit shall I wear this year?" This year I went with green socks, a green striped shirt w/green under shirt, a green headband, earrings, and fingernail polish. Nobody's going to be pinching me!! :o)

• I flirty texted Tron yesterday and he called me to tell me he has a girlfriend. I wish I was joking, but I'm not . I'm happy he found somebody to date, but I'm sad that we'll have no more dates. I really liked spending time with him! This is like the FOURTH person that I've gone out on a date or two or hung out with several times that has then ended up in a relationship not with me. Sigh, I must be the perfect springboard for relationships or something. 

• This weekend is going to be busy. Next week is going to be busy. Being busy helps keep my mind off of sad things like Tron getting a girlfriend. :P 

• I made Pioneer Woman's Key Lime Pie for a RS Activity yesterday. It is VERY yummy. 

• My mouth hurts after getting my permanent crown a week ago. I think it's time to call to the dentist and complain. I am not looking forward to dealing with this more. I hate going to the dentist.

• I keep thinking I'm getting caught up on my sleep after Daylight Savings and then I stay up late. I'm so stupid sometimes. sigh.

• I really want to eat the peeps my mom got me for my birthday. I should have brought them to work today.

Thursday Things

Hi dear internet friends! Are you having a good week? I sure am! I love short work weeks, they make my heart oh so happy. I have wonderful things happening this weekend and I am just super excited to do all these wonderful things. Here's a few "things" to get you through the end of the week and into the weekend!

• someone (I'm not remembering who right now) shared this article with me on Why You're Not Married. I liked it. A lot. Also, I agreed with a lot of what the author had to say. Go read it. :o)

• I have a date with Tron on Saturday. I'm not sure of our plans yet, I expect to hear from him either today or tomorrow. :o)

• Don't laugh, but I'm playing a D&D-esque game with my roommate, her ex-boyfriend, The Australian and another dude starting tomorrow night. I know nothing of what I'm getting myself into, but everyone tells me I will have fun. We'll see, I guess. My character is a cross between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Scarlett O'Hara. I'm sort of excited to see how it all works out.

• I get to go shopping with Amber this weekend. I'm rather excited to hang out with her. :o) She's awesome.

• It is supposed to snow this weekend. I'm not going to lie, I'm sort of excited about it. I haven't gotten to play in any snow this winter (timing of storms has not worked out w/me being in Utah) and last year I didn't play in the snow AT ALL because of my knee. I REALLY want to play in the snow SO BAD!

• My mouth is still sore from the dentist earlier this week. Mostly it's just my jaw that is sore from having to keep my mouth open for so many hours. I hate the dentist.

• Tomorrow is going to be full of awesome being my day off and all. I have several plans including going to the temple, eating lunch with a friend and maybe even getting a massage! :o) Yay for days off!

• I've been planning my birthday party and it is going to be AWESOME. I'll be sure to post about it after the fact.

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 12th Edition

Well my dear internet friends, it has been another week. I am constantly amazed at how quickly time if moving and how happy I seem to be all the time. I am loving life. I really, truly am loving life. It is an amazing feeling.

This week my tender mercy is as follows: I had to get a crown on one of my teeth yesterday (3 hours in a dentist chair = NO FUN) and my roommate had to work. I was all sad because I didn't want to be by myself all day with a sore mouth. However, The Australian came over and kept me company; comforted me while I whimpered, scratched my back, and was just my friend. It was so nice of him. I have the best friends in the world and I am so grateful for them!!

This week is definitely going to be a very busy one and I am all sorts of excited for my adventures. Stay tuned for updates from my date this weekend and other happenings (hopefully for tomorrow!)

Thoisday

Well hello Thoisday! You're my favorite, you know that right? I feel like you kind of snuck up on me and part of thinks that it is supposed to be Wednesday. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad that you are here. Means this week has flown by. Let's take a look at a few things shall we?

• I went to the dentist for the first time in several years yesterday. I really like my dentist. He's very personable and a great guy. I'm very happy going there (which is good since I don't like going to the dentist)

• I knew I had a whole in one tooth so I have to get a crown on Monday. Great way to spend a day off huh? Oh well. C'est la vie

• I have a date tomorrow with a guy from the internets (the super cute one I mentioned 2 weeks ago). I'll give him a 'nym later if I think it's going to go anywhere.

• Remember my word of the year? Yeah, I'm totally rocking it out. Love 2011.

• I know I haven't told you anything about how the Ballet West date went. I'll work on that and give it to you soon, I promise. The story is a doozy.

• I started planning my birthday party. It is going to ROCK hard core.

• I've been drinking lots of water lately. This means I go to the bathroom a lot. :o)

• I need to go to the grocery store. I don't have time to go to the grocery store. This is a problem.

• I saw Dr. Teeth last night. It was great.

• Life is good. :o)

Tired Thursday Things

• I am oh so very tired. I forget how much putting together a show can take it out of me. I am starting to get sick and my sinuses are attacking me. Stupid sinuses.
• I washed my bedding yesterday and it finished in the dryer right before bedtime. Therefore, I had a nice warm and toasty bed when I went to sleep. This was AWESOME. I wish I could find the energy to do that more often, but I hate making my bed after washing all of my sheets and stuff.
• I must admit that I've been on a dating website the past couple of weeks and I've been talking to a few guys from said website. I am meeting one of the guys tomorrow. We became facebook friends the other day and this guy is NOT attractive. :( Hopefully the date goes in such a way that I can put him off without being too mean.
• Another guy from said dating website has been emailing me and he sent me some pictures. He is super cute. We'll see where that goes.
• I have season tickets to Ballet West and the next ballet is next Saturday, February 12. They are performing Sleeping Beauty. I am so thrilled to go see this. I'm calling Sweetums tomorrow to ask him to come with me. I haven't seen him in a month and haven't really talked to him in several weeks. It makes me sad. Here's hoping he doesn't already have plans for next weekend.
• I made a dentist appointment yesterday. I hate the dentist. However, I think I have picked a really good one. We'll see after the appointment in a couple of weeks.
• I won my work's wellness program for January. I won a one-hour massage. I am going to use it after I go to the dentist.
• I have fun plans for my sister's birthday next week and I'm really excited to celebrate with her.
• Also, I am really excited to not have to worry about cleaning choreography for a month or so. We'll start to learn June's choreography in March, but until then it will just be class and training. Good times.

I think that's everything that I have thought about in the past few days. It's probably not and I'm really tired so I don't really feel like my brain is functioning at full capacity these days. Have a good Thursday y'all.

things, schmings

Welcome friends. It is finally Thursday. It felt like it took ages to get here, but here it got. I've struggled this week to find focus and productivity while at work and I VERY MUCH need the day off tomorrow. I have only about 5 bazillion things on my mind so let's get right to it shall we?

• I skimmed/read John Bytheway's "What I Wish I'd Known When I Was Single" the other day. Don't laugh. I got it a while back when I was in a relationship (it was a free digital download okay?!) but hadn't ever read it. I skimmed it during a break and came across a quote by a random person in John's life that I loved - you might have seen it on Twitter: "The wrong one, Is the right one, To lead you, To the best one." Isn't that just great? I love it.

• Don't judge, but I'm getting a spray-on tan tonight. I haven't seen the sun in a REALLY long time AND while my legs are in REALLY good shape I have so many bruises that it's pathetic. I tend to bruise super easily and I often don't know where I get said bruises. I want my legs to look fabulous on stage and this is more for me then for you....I'll tell you how it goes later.

• I am very tired. I have stayed up late the past couple of nights - not for a boy, but just because. sigh. I am SO sleeping in tomorrow.

• I still need to make a dentist appointment. Have I mentioned how much I hate the dentist?

• BYU won their basketball game last night. I'll admit I'm sort of a fair weather fan when it comes to basketball - but the game was tons of fun to watch.

• I perform in FOUR DAYS people. I really hope you're coming. Make sure to find me after the show and say hi. 

• Oh and said performance that is in four days? Yeah...we still don't know what we're wearing yet. :P 

• I've started reading Emotional Geology recommended to me by the ever lovely Angie. I can already tell this book is going to 1) be amazing and 2) change me. I'll be sure to post a review for you later.

• Sister B's birthday is coming up. I'm excited for the plan I have for her. YAY birthdays!!!

• I didn't go running last night and I won't go again until after the show - but I DID do a pilates workout. Kicked my trash. 

• I love Natural Ice chapstick. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

• I bought new mascara (falsies! we'll see how it works) and lipstick for the show last night. My performance makeup has dwindled in the past few years.

• Did I mention that I am tired? because I AM!

• Finally, my fingernails are the healthiest they have been in a LONG time. I'm loving it. :o)

And that's it for me peeps. I hope you all have a great weekend. I have a little something prepped for you tomorrow but other than that I'm probably going to lie low. I have a ton going on and I'll be fairly busy for the next five days. :o) Woo hoo. Catch y'all on the flip side.

Bravery

Sometimes I pretend to be brave and sometimes I am ACTUALLY brave.

Saturday I pretended to be brave, but yesterday - yesterday I was actually brave.

Yesterday after my church meetings and after choir I introduced myself to a new guy in the ward. I talked to him for a long time and I feel like we clicked just a little bit. I felt so good about myself for getting my flirt on and what not. GO ME!

Also, I was brave yesterday because I initiated an online conversation with SwingKid. This is the first time that we've had a real-time conversation in eight weeks and it was good. I held my breath a couple of times, but overall it was good.

I am excited for today - if only because the countdown to the show begins. :o) The next 10 days are going to be busy. I have a laundry date with my sister, a temple trip to make, friends to see, dentist appointments to make,  a couple hours of rehearsal (we still have to finish our piece! EEK!), a Winter-een-mas party, a Saturday FULL of rehearsals and then a show to present. It is going to be a full week and I am excited for it.

Thursday Things

Thank goodness it is finally Thursday. Even though I have to work tomorrow, I tend to love Thursdays. This week has been long and HARD. Yesterday was a good day and today should prove to be an even better day. I have a yummy pizza lunch to look forward to, teaching ballet, and rehearsal. Oh how I love rehearsal. Let's go over some things shall we?

• The show I am performing in is in 11 days. EEK!!! SCARY!! Do you have your tickets yet?

• My hair is getting SO long and I love it. A lot.

• And yet there is still a part of me that would love to whack it off. I love a drastic change.

• It has been slightly warmer round these parts lately - enough so that it has melted all the ice that was causing me  grief. I really want spring/summer to be here NOW.

• I have pink fingernails. They make me smile.

• I need to make a dentist appointment. I hate the dentist. Seriously - I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. Do you have a good dentist in Utah county you love?

• I'm working on some fun things to happen in the month of March. I'm quite excited about them.

• This year January seems to be going by faster than it has in years past, I am very much okay with that.

THURSDAY!!!!

I LOVE Thursdays. They are great days. It's right before the weekend, so work goes by fast because the office is busy. (i get phones calls from dentist offices, and most dentist offices are closed on Fridays, so Thursday is the day before the weekend for them. thus us being busy.)

Also, I teach an advanced ballet class on Thursday nights and I really like said ballet class. I have a good report with those students and I just plain love being with them.

On other news...SwingKid and I were brainstorming ideas for our double date with Bassbob and his GF tomorrow night. during said brainstorm...SwingKid sent me the following email:

the eye doctor...

i don't know why, but i always get nervous before going to the eye doctor, but i do! I have an appointment today, just my annual check-up to make sure my eyes are okay and all that jazz. However, I am so nervous for this appointment! I mean, its not like the dentist's office where you're afraid you might have a cavity...you can't have a cavity in your eye! lol. There isn't anything that I can do to prevent anything that might be wrong with my eyes...at least...not that i know of. Not like teeth anyways. :S i hope all goes well...i need new contacts, i'm on my last pair and it's already been 2 weeks with them, so it's a good thing I am going to the optometrist today. :) He'll give me a trial pair of contacts depending on my eyes, and that will get me through until my new contacts come in. Granted, I do have glasses I can wear...but I'm not so much a fan. Maybe I should become more of a fan. Sigh.

It's Tuesday

Guess what that means? It means that tonight is the series finale of Gilmore Girls. Which is sad...but okay I guess. The show has had a good 7-year run, but I'm sad to see it go. I have loved this show. It makes me happy. :)

You know what else? My ward is looking more and more social each time we get together. I do think the change of the bishopric is making a HUGE difference. :) All-in-all I think it will be a good day...if only I can get over the fear of my eye appointment today...

UPDATE:
I PASSED! My eyes are okay dokay, and all is well. I'm just trying out a new brand for ocmfort reasons. Hurrah. My fears were for no reason at all!
