Remember?

Remember how I was going to do ALL of my To-Do list yesterday?

Well...I didn't. BUT I HAVE A GOOD REASON!!!

It was SwingKid's sister's birthday yesterday and I was invited to the party. I love parties. I'm such a fan of his family. They are great fun.

Dinner was FABULOUS. I tried salmon. I've only tried it once before and I wasn't a fan - but it was only a bite. Last night I tried a small little portion of the salmon and it was...okay. I don't think I'm a huge fan of it. However, I have officially tried it and I would eat a tiny bit again, but I wouldn't ever ask for it on purpose. The rest of the meal was amazing. There was a REALLY good salad, amazing rolls, and grilled asparagus which was my favorite part. :o) Also, there was angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream (the homemade awesome stuff).

So back story - I have NEVER liked milk. I hate drinking the stuff it makes me sick to my stomach. I don't put anything on my cereal (yes, I eat it dry WHEN I eat cereal) and I buy the smallest, cheapest milk I can find because I just don't drink it. I love milk products - ice cream, cheese, yogurt, etc. and they don't seem to bother me.

Well, as of late, my tolerance for milk products is diminishing. EXAMPLE: SwingKid and I made ice cream sundaes a couple months ago with this AMAZING hot fudge sauce who's main ingredient is Evaporated Milk. Well, after eating a lion's share of the fudge AND ice cream, I found my tummy not too happy with me. Also, SwingKid has accidentally made my hot chocolate with milk instead of water and my tummy is never happy aftwerwards.

Well, I wasn't really thinking last night when eating the best birthday cake ever - and I ate more than my share of the whipped cream...and I paid for it last night. My poor, poor tummy was in a hating mood. I woke up feeling fine this morning, but I've got to remember to watch my milk intake. I probably should go to a doctor and find out how allergic/lactose intolerant I am...but that requires having a normal family practice doctor to begin with....any suggestions?? When I was at the Y it didn't matter,  because I just went to the Health Center, but now that I'm all grown up and have real-life health insurance and stuff, I need a doctor. sigh.

also, this turned into a really long post and if you're still reading I'm impressed. Are you lactose intolerant? Do you have a doctor you recommend I go see?

p.s. I changed the look of my blog again. I get so bored with it all the time. although all you google readers probably don't notice that I change it, but I do, and that's all that matters. Yay for free blog backgrounds from the cutest blog on the block

BIRTHDAYS!!!

My mother's birthday was this weekend and I just wanted to take a quick moment to say that my Mom ROCKS. She's honestly the coolest person ever. She does awesome cool things all the time and is just amazing.

She taught me everything I know (except for anything to do with Math) and is continually helping me to become a better person.

She started her own business and has a blog along with an etsy store to sell all her cool jewelery that she makes. I love when she calls me with questions on how to make things work on her blog, and she's always willing to learn better ways to do things. She's great. :o)

Basically, my mother is FREAKING awesome.. I love her tons and I am so happy that she's mine.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Bring It On

Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "oh my gosh they have made so many 'Bring it On' movies, I just might puke. And ABC Family LOVES to keep making MORE of them..."

but really, this post is not about some cheerleader changing high schools and having to spice up a new squad's routine in order to beat out her old high school.

No, this post is about this week. I'm READY for you! Bring it on!!!

In other news I have basically accomplished my entire list minus a few items that I have put onto today's to do list. I'm pretty sure I can do ALL of these tonight. In fact, I'm GOING to, because I am awesome like that.

  • clean mirror in room
  • Finish my taxes (they've been basically done for WEEKS now, i just have to "sign" them)

  • make chocolate truffles that i've been wanting to make for months

wait...it was the weekend?

yeah...so basically i had no weekend. I knew that going into it, but it didn't make it much better. I did, however, have a wonderful Sunday in the sunny gorgeousness that was Utah.

the shows went beautifully. It was a great time. I've already been asked to teach again next year. YAY for job security.

I have a to-do list a mile long. Seriously. I have WAY too much to do. Here, I'll show you:

  • go to walmart (i need some ever important TP!)
  • clean car (VACUUM!)
  • clean kitchen
  • clean out fridge
  • clean bathroom floor
  • clean tub
  • clean mirror in bathroom
  • clean sink/counter in bathroom

  • clean out some storage
can you tell it's spring cleaning time? I'm really trying to reduce the STUFF in my life. There's an article I found on kirtsy talking about having less stuff = more time and money to DO stuff. I rather enjoyed the read and have decided that I just need to get rid of some stuff. I really don't need it and it's time to make my life simpler. Easier to enjoy things.

*Are you doing any spring cleaning in your home?*
*What stuff do you hold on to that it's time to get let it go?*

not really looking forward to the weekend....

while the shows are going to go MAGNIFICENTLY, I just have so many other things that I need to get done that I know I'm not going to have much of a relaxing weekend.  ugh...so here's my friday fill in-ness for the week...

1. Today I will be wishing I could go to the movies.
2. everyone questions my motives, and I say why not?
3. What do you think of stick shifts and safety belts?
4. At (i don't think this exists in O-town) it's free Pastry Day til 1030 Friday!
5. People say that what we're all seeking is a better tomorrow.
6. The image I cherish most is one that is near and dear to my heart.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to show one being over, tomorrow my plans include shows 2 and 3 and Sunday, I want to try to relax from all the shows!

text or alarm?

So i went to bed around midnight last night (I know, I know  - a little late) BUT that's not the point. THe point is I went to bed and started to fall asleep. I was in that place of just before sleep and being awake when dreams are awesome. During this time I felt like I had fallen asleep and slept for a nice amount of time.

My phone goes off, and being in the state it was I TOTALLY thought it was my alarm clock even though it was just a text message. I rolled out of bed to snooze the alarm when I realized it was a text message, opened my phone up and looked at the time to see: 12:25. I totally thought I had gone to bed for SEVERAL hours when in reality I hadn't even been in bed for more than 15 minutes. I gladly went back to bed, conked out and rolled out of bed 7 hours later. Yes, I woke up late this morning. oh well, I got to work on time and that is what matters.

Tired Tuesday

I love alliteration. I think it's so nifty.

I am tired. STILL. My poor brain wouldn't stop running last night and I didn't get to bed until the early hours of the morning. Which means getting up for work this morning SUCKED. hard core suckage.

random story about the word "suck" :

once upon a time my dad was not a fan of the words "crap" and "sucks;" in fact, I think that is still the case. ANYWAYS, he would constantly get on our cases about using those words and encourage us to use different language to express our frustration (but not swear words mind you).

So one night, while sitting around the dinner table someone in the family (i have no idea who) was telling a dramatic story that didn't have a happy ending and at one point my mom pipes up with "holy crap, that sucks!" it was basically the FUNNIEST thing any of us had heard and it made it even better when my dad turned to my mom with this look of disbelief that SHE would break the rules. Needless to say, the language barriers in my house were slowly dropped, much to my dad's dismay.

and that's if for me today (for now). I'm exhausted and I'm hoping for a drug-induced early to bed night. Let's hope this happens for my sanity. :p

*rubs sleep out of eyes*

you guys. I am not a fan of this daylight savings business. Well, I'm a fan of more sunlight. I thrive on sunlight. More of it makes my heart happy.

BUT

this whole changing time business has totally thrown me off. It doesn't help that I had a 7am meeting yesterday - which felt like 6 and it was AWFUL. well, the time of day, not the meeting. The meeting was grand.

in other news, I had the most fabulous day with Chillylint on Saturday. We got some beautiful pictures taken and thoroughly enjoyed Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Hale in Orem. I haven't laughed that hard in a long, long time.

finally, I am here to warn you that today is the Ides of March - and that one should be wary of these ides. So there you go, don't say I didn't warn you.

finally friday!

I am being lazy today. I have a HUGE day planned for tomorrow and so I'm trying to make today as low key as humanely possible. Let us pray that the phones don't ring at work so I can get a lot of paperwork done okay? okay.

now for some friday fill-in love:

1. I am so looking forward to nicer weather; the question is, when will it get here?
2. I'll deal with it  later.
3. When you get that look in your eye, it makes me happy.
4. Dancing is a big part of my life.
5. If you need anything please call me, I'll try to help you out.
6. I really want to go on a trip.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Ponyo for date night, tomorrow my plans include my childhood best friend's baptism (SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!), a photoshoot with Whitney Lewis, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Chillylint and Sunday, I want to hate on daylight savings!

Birthday Recap

Well, I'm back at work after my long, wonderful 3-day weekend. It was honestly one of the best weekends of my life. I rather enjoyed my entire weekend.

The wonderfulness began on Saturday afternoon when SwingKid took me to see Alice in Wonderland in 3D by Tim Burton. It was rather enjoyable and my first 3D movie experience. The movie was great and I loved it.

Sunday morning came and I woke up for Stake Conference and my roommate and I went down to my car to drive away, but found it filled to the top with balloons. SwingKid was super sneaky and completely filled my car with balloons. I couldn't open the door without having balloons attack me. It was so great and I LOVED it.

After church I ate a grilled cheese sandwich and took a nap. Then SwingKid and Sister B came over and made me dinner. It was my favorite: chicken cordon bleu and a spinach strawberry salad. SO YUMMY. This was followed with yummy cake made from scratch by Sister B.

Monday I took a holiday because I decided I deserved a holiday for my birthday. It was probably the best thing I have ever done for myself. I slept in, woke up to sunshine streaming in through my window and took a wonderfully long shower before getting ready. I wore a fun sequined top and went to lunch with HiccupMel and Chillylint. I love those girls! We went to P.F. Changs, got yummy food and fabulous desserts! After my luncheon with HiccupMel and Chillylint I did some shopping at several stores and then met Sister B for my free SpoonMe. I also got to see SwingKid for a few minutes before going to the studio to teach my ballet class.  After teaching I ate yummy food, went to the gym (2.6 miles!!!) and then over to SwingKid's for some Castle and chillaxin' on the couch.

So BASICALLY, I had THE BEST birthday in a long time (or at least, it feels that way) and I really enjoyed my time off. Everyone should get a holiday for their birthday. It's awesome.

p.s. this was going to have some pictures...but I haven't gotten them from SwingKid yet. I'll work on that though...

*YAWN*

Basically, yesterday SUCKED. It was NOT a fun day at work. Then I had to teach and go to institute. It was a very long day and by the time I got home it was 9:20 pm. SwingKid gave me a call and then came over. He treated me to a little neck/shoulder massage which was basically awesome. I have been really tense the past few days.

Then, I was falling asleep on my couch while SwingKid was doing some homework on George and he came over, kissed me on the forehead and sent me to bed. I was expecting to fall asleep rather quickly due to my drowsy eyes on the couch, but noooo. It took me AGES to get to sleep and I woke up this morning rather ornery and sleepy. Luckily for me I got free lunch for work at Zupas. How I love that place.

So basically, my plan for today is to go home, do my laundry, eat some food, teach ballet, change my laundry and then go to bed. Even if it ends up being drug induced. I will be going to bed by 9:30pm. I need my beauty sleep.

p.s. my birthday is in 3 days. you should definitely look into getting me an awesome birthday present. My latest idea? A roll of bubble wrap so I can have bubble wrap carpet and hear that fun popping noise everywhere I go. :o)

Red Ants on a Log

RECIPE:

1. Take Celery stalks. Wash and destring. Cut into smallish sections
2. spread Peanut Butter into the crevice of celery.
3. stick Craisins on top of peanut butter.
4. EAT and ENJOY.

VOILA! you now have Red Ants on a Log. (SwingKid hadn't heard of these called ants on a log. What do you call them?)

my work is having this wellness program where we are to eat 5 servings of veggies in a day. that's a lot of veggies. So I'm trying to find fun ways to eat veggies. how do YOU eat your veggies?
