Tender Mercy Tuesdsay - 47th Edition

BEST Tender Mercy ever was given to me this weekend you guys.

So remember last year when I got to perform and it healed my heart, body, and soul?

Yeah, I remember that too. :o)

Well, it's happening again this year! Wahoo! We're doing a director's piece to Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. We're not dancing to the entire six minutes - the music will get cut.

I am so excited at the opportunity to perform. I think it's really important for our dancers and their parents to see the directors dance. They get the chance to see that we really are skilled at what we do. :)

Dancing has always been such a great place for me to release my emotions and what not and I feel so blessed that I am still able to perform.

We had our first rehearsal last night and these girls that I get to dance with they are just....AMAZING. I love them so much and getting to spend time with them on a fairly regular basis is going to keep me so happy.

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 29th Edition

Good Merry Morning all! I hope you are having just a fantastic morning! I'm a little on the sleepy side after going on a late night Sonic run with Percy last night....but other than that, I'm fantastic. :o)

I really love Tuesdays and the opportunity I have to reflect on the small and simple blessings I have been given. Last week it was the realization of how happy I am when I'm dancing. It doesn't matter what kind of dancing - I just love dancing!  I have decided that I need to be more consistent in taking an open adult class and go to Blue Tango on a more regular basis. It is good for my soul to be dancing.

Have a great and blessed day all!

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 20th Edition

Hi Guys.

It's been a crazy few days. My weekend was amazing and I promise to tell you the stories...soon. However, work is taking over my life (lots of overtime) and I'm still working on the stories for you. Just get excited okay?

In the meantime, let me share my small tender mercy with you. This past week was crazy and intense and full of all sorts of emotions. However, I was once again blessed with a reaffirmation of my Heavenly Father's love for me. It's amazing how easy it is to forget that God DOES know what you're going through and He WANTS you to be happy. He sent some amazing people my way last week that just stopped to say hi, or sent me a text message or a note on Facebook. These people make me so happy and I am so grateful that there is something out there bigger than myself to help me get over the hard times.

Anyways, I hope you all are having a good week. Mine has been long already, but luckily I don't work on Friday. :o) Stay tuned for awesome stories in the very near future!

Quarterly Review

Hello again my dear readers. I know I didn't mention that I was going to do this, in fact I just decided a few weeks ago that I should do this - but I am conducting my own personal Quarterly Review on my Word of the Year progress.

I hope you've noticed the ever present reminder of my word of the year to the right -----> I have programed that nifty little button to take you to any post that I have labeled as one where I am flourishing. I just took some time earlier this month to go through and see what I have done and remind myself of my goals.

I already know that there are changes to my goals. I didn't make it to Disneyland for my birthday - and I know I WANT to go, I'm just not sure when yet. Also, I'm thinking I won't be attending the Dance Teacher's Summit. I really want to, but with my sister getting married in June and all the time I'm taking off then, I'm not sure I'll want to take that much time off this summer. We'll see. I'm still keeping it as a possibility. for sure. :o)

I had the wonderful experience of attending the temple for the first time and doing my own temple work. I wrote about what I felt like I could share here.

In other news - I have found SO MUCH HAPPINESS within myself. I feel as if my heart has healed. I've been dating like crazy and taking risks right and left. I feel more whole than I have in a long time and for this I am so grateful.

Honest to goodness, life is GOOD right now. While there are certainly things that I wish I had in my life - I know that I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I am doing RIGHT NOW. This is THE BEST feeling a girl can have, in my opinion anyways.

Tender Mercy Tuesday - Performance Edition

Today's Tender Mercies are all about dancing. I am so blessed to still have dance as a part of my life. I love it so much and even though I am not always the one on stage, the rewards of seeing my girls put their best effort forward and come out on the otherside different people make my heart burst with joy.

My students are amazing. They have worked so hard these past few months and they look marvelous on stage. I love each of them so much and getting to work with them from week to week and see the mass improvements they have made is incredible.

"To touch, to move, to inspire. This is the true gift of dance." - Aubrey Lynch

I am also oh so very grateful for the tender mercy of being able to perform again. Dancing these past few weeks and learning this choreography has been a healing balm for my soul.

"To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak." - Hopi Indian Saying
That quote above perfectly describes how I feel during the piece I am in. Dancing this peace is me letting my heart speak. If you don't have anything going on tonight be sure to stop by the Covey Center and see many beautiful moments. Have a great day y'all!

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 8th Edition

Here we are, another Tuesday. I can't believe how quickly time has passed since I started this meme. Week 8 guys! Seriously?! time flies.

Anyways. Tender Mercies for the past week:
  • I had a couple of awesome spiritual experiences this week. I love those. They help strengthen both my testimony and my resolve. It definitely helps one get over some humps.
  • After a not so pleasant evening one day last week I had a friend call me who I hadn't talked to in almost 2 months. It was a wonderful conversation and the things we talked about reminded me why I didn't need to be sad.
  • Per yesterday's post - being able to talk to SwingKid and get over that initial post-break up conversation was SO good. I know it is going to take time to just be friends, but I do believe it is possible.
  • I was cleaning up some files on my computer and I discovered a list I made a long time ago of 100 things that I like. I did some tweaking to update it a little bit and then created a Wordle. click on the image below to see 100 things I like!
Wordle: Untitled

  • Although my knee has been bothering me a little bit the past few days it hasn't hindered my ability to get anything done. :o) Thank goodness!
Anyways, I love doing these posts because they definitely help me remember all the good things happening in my life. There is SO MUCH good!  Anything good happening in your life you'd like to share?

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 6th Edition

Wow. I can't believe I've had this going for six weeks now! Crazy how time flies!!

I just have one simple tender mercy to share today and that is the fact that someone responded to something I did in a very positive manner. (I'm being very vague on purpose. A girl's got to have her secrets yo!) This really made my day. It has helped me to continue to heal. I wasn't expecting a response to my action, but the fact that this person took the time to respond and the fact that it was in such a positive manner really truly made me happy.

Anyways...I have had little things every day - in fact, I think everyone does! I've been trying to write down something each day in my journal and that's where I'm getting my weekly tender mercies for you guys. This exercise has been one of the best things for me, hands down. Taking time each day (and then again for a whole week) to notice what little tender mercies or blessings I have been given has really strengthened me as a person. I have been happier and more optimistic. Life is good. If you are sad right now, take a few minutes and look to see if there has been SOME kind of good thing to happen to you. Sometimes it is a small, tiny thing and at other times it is a BIG thing that happens. So there you go, my unsolicited advice on how to be a happier person. :o) Have a great Tuesday y'all!

    What the What?!

another new meme? why yes. Another meme. This one stemmed from posting the past couple of weeks and me having "thing" posts. So...I've created a cute little banner and today I introduce to you:

a simple meme really. Every Thursday I will post "thursday things" essentially just a few THINGS that I have been thinking about/doing that don't necessarily warrant their own blog post. It should be a fun little meme. Participate if you'd like. Steal my banner, I don't care! Just leave a comment so I can come visit you and your things! :o)

    So...onward and upward.

    • I have been feeling fairly happy this week. I've still felt like posting - which is amazing to me in some ways and not surprising in others. Writing and expressing my feelings has always helped.
    • related the above one - I've started writing more diligently in my personal journal and it has been very....healing.
    • I get free lunch today. I'm very excited for this.
    • I leave for VA in 13 days. WOOT!
    • I have started to notice how the running has been helping my body - I'm a trimmer, more slimmed down version of Alishka. I'm excited about this.
    • Also related to the thing above - I am planning on continuing the couch to 5k after i finish next week - but doing it to get faster. At the same time I am also going to implement a strength training workout 2-3x a week. Not sure exactly what that is going to involve yet, but I know it will make feel even BETTER!
what are some of your "things?"

    toilet paper snob

I decided the other day that I'm a toilet paper snob. There some kinds of TP that I just loathe. My roommate just bought said TP. I hate it. I can't wait for it to be all gone and hope that she buys something different. *I* buy the nice stuff. Soft. thick. None of this see-through tissue paper business that is currently in the bathroom.

anyways. I feel better now that I've said something. Moving on....to Friday Fill-ins!! It's been awhile since I've played (granted, it hasn't posted in awhile either...) so here you go!

    1. My back sometimes gets out of whack and I hate that.

    2. I like to pretend I'm really, really wild.

    3. Leaves are falling all around, and I love them!

    4. I hate when I'm plagued with forgetfulness.

    5. Healing is never a quick process.

    6. Working on all sorts of choreography is what I've been up to lately!

    7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to date night with SwingKid, tomorrow my plans include loads of awesomeness aka General Conference and a GNO and Sunday, I want to continue the awesomeness of General Conference!
