Today is The Flintstones' 50th Anniversary!
I LOVE The Flintstones. I remember watching cartoons at various times in my childhood, and The Flintstones was always a favorite for me. I'm pretty sure I didn't get ALL the humor that was involved, but overall I really enjoyed watching all the characters in Bedrock.
So yay for The Flintstones' and Yay for awesome childhood memories embeded in cartoons. If you go HERE then you can watch full episodes from The Flintstones. Oh how I love the internet.

sometimes i use too much hairspray
you know when you have a vision for what you want your hair to look like with a certain outfit and so you get all excited about doing your hair? AND THEN when you start doing it, the hair-do really doesn't want to cooperate so you just keep adding more and more product and then by the time you're done you've used up half of your bottle of hairspray, a tube of smoothing cream, and approximately 100 bobby pins. At the end of all of this you realize you hate your "look" and you want to take it all out and start all over, but it's time to go to work and if you take your do out you know your hair is ruined because of all the crap you just put it through.
this didn't happen TODAY per se, but it seems to happen more often than not to me when I'm getting ready in the morning.
in other news, i had a WONDERFUL 3-day weekend and I'm now back at work hoping this 5-day work week flies by in the best way possible. how was your weekend friends?

Ten on Tuesday & a shoutout - or vice versa
So first of all, I have to shoutout to one of the best roommates I've had: Robin. She's totally the bomb.com. I heart her and today is her birthday! YAY!! I love birthdays and her so I had to take a minute to tell the whole world that it is her birthday. Love ya dear.
Now, for some Ten on Tuesday goodness:
1. What’s the one thing you always do when you’re stressed?
cry. freak out. eat lots of chocolate.
2. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done for a friend?
hmmm....I can't think of anything "weird" right now.
3. What cleaning supply could you not live without?
Clorox Wipes. LOVE THEM.
4. How long do you plan on living where you currently reside?
well. at least until my contract ends in July. I could move earlier, or I could stay longer. I really don't know right now.
5. Do you usually vote straight party, a mixture, or not at all?
mostly straight party, but sometimes it's a mixture.
6. What’s something that you love to do, but seem to never make time for?
bake. i never have time to bake right now.
7. What’s your favorite store to buy things for other people?
Amazon.com. It has anything for everybody.
8. What’s the weather like around you today?
sunny. gorgeous. basically perfect - except for the fact that I'm inside at my desk staring at a computer.
9. What’s the worst book you’ve ever bought and read?
hmmm. Breaking Dawn. easily.
10. What’s the closest thing to you that is yellow?
the yellow sticky notes on my desk with notes from phone calls and such. I have so many sticky notes....(not all of them yellow though)

NIGHTMARES!!!
dear blogging friends -
I had not the happiest dreams last night. (well. early this morning rather.) LONG story short: I ended up waking up around 3:30 this morning and then finding myself needing to go back to sleep (but i was VERY awake) so I could wake up at 6am and get to work on time. Needless to say, my brain went into overdrive and I ended up having the worst dreams EVER. They were awful. They were about bugs under my bed, and spiders falling into my ears and so every time I moved I swore that their were bugs crawling all over me. It was not a happy 2.5 hours and now I feel like all the sleep I DID get before 3:30am is non-existent because of those awful, no good dreams.
So my question for you today is, what do you do for nightmares and how do you overcome them when trying to sleep? Is there any solution? It doesn't happen often for me, but when it does happen I am taken on a wild goose chase - chasing my want for sleep while running away from scary nightmares.
I await your suggestions.
Love,
Me.

dix mardi
well guys. It's ten on tuesday time. (did you like my french twist on that? I sure did) Anyways. Here you go. about 10 questions answered by yours truly.
1. Favorite way to travel (plane, train, automobile, etc.)
I love traveling. I ADORE a good road trip and planes and I happen to be pretty good friends. I've never been on a train (that I can remember. My parents took me on a train when I was little) so of all the way I've traveled...I'm going to go with automobile. They are roomier than airplanes.
2. Where’s your favorite place to travel to that you’ve been to?
Hmmm... this one is a difficult one. I've been to some pretty cool places. I'm going to go with Washington D.C. though. I love that place. There are will always be something that I have never seen which makes it so exciting to visit!
3. Where’s the place that you want to go but have never been?
Europe. hands down. That and Greece and Italy. yeah. Basically anywhere on the other side of the world would be pretty cool.
4. Do you deal with traffic well?
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. sometimes. :o)
5. Ever had an emergency while traveling?
once upon a time when I was 8.5 our engine blew up while driving to Washington. We were in the middle of nowhere Idaho. We ended up spending that Thanksgiving holiday w/our cousins' (who we were going to visit in WA) family for Thanksgiving. (our cousins came too) It was quite the adventure.
6. Do you have a passport? What countries have you been to?
I do have a passport. I got it for a trip I thought I was going to take to Russia. Then...I never went. So I've never used it. I want to use it someday before it expires though.
7. Are you’ve light packer or do you pack everything but the kitchen sink?
I can do both. It depends on my mood and the purpose of the trip. I can definitely go both ways though.
8. Do you take the fastest route or the road less traveled?
it depends. how fast do I need/want to get to where I'm going?
9. Do any activities on the road? (like road games, reading, sleeping, etc. )
oh yes. all of it. Awesome road trip music, games, reading, sleeping, etc. I love road trips!
10. Use a paper map or GPS?
paper map from Google Maps. love me some Google Maps.

brilliancy lost
so I had a brilliant idea for a post at some point this morning (it was either while in the shower, while eating breakfast w/SwingKid or while driving to work) and then when I finally got around to really thinking about it, I did the unthinkable. I FORGOT. sigh. C'est la vie I suppose, right?
I hate when this happens to me. I really hate forgetting things. I feel like I know what it is and it that it is basically right on the tip of my tongue....but I can't spit the words out onto this page.
In other news it is Monday. I teach my first ballet class of the year for the "other studio" tonight. I'm looking forward to it. I love new beginnings.
Speaking of new beginnings - I made a goal to drink more water (so I'll be hungry less and less likely to want to eat chocolate and such) and man alive, I have to go to the bathroom ALL THE TIME. Seriously, so often. However, I haven't had to eat any of the chocolates sitting at the desk of my boss so that's good right?
Anyways, here's hoping I can maybe remember what I really wanted to post about - CIAO!

today is brought to you by the number...
900!!
You guys! today is my 900th post! Can you believe it? I really can't! In fact, once I found out that I was to reach this milestone I started brainstorming ways to celebrate. (Thus my long hiatus...) Well, as I tried to think of the most awesome thing I could do I started to get overwhelemed and realized that I should just post like normal. Sound good? good. Because trying to come up with something uber awesome was stressing me out. My thoughts are a little scattered today, but I think I can pull them together.
Since I last posted, August has come and gone. We're now into September. I love September. It's such a great month. It can be really warm (making you still remember your awesome summer) and then you have days of cool mornings and warm afternoons (aka jacket weather!). Today is one of those cool days - but I'm pretty sure we won't have a super warm afternoon. It's just supposed to be cool and rainy. I love these kind of days too.
Let's see...oh yeah! I finally got my ferris wheel ride. SwingKid was up visiting his sister overnight up North and the next day he calls me and says "Hey! We're going to Lagoon! Come!" So I did!!! I am so glad we did too! It was a total blast. I don't have any pictures because even though I brought my camera, I forgot my battery at home charging. sigh. Go me right?
School started for SwingKid again which means that life just got a little more busy for two of us, but so far it seems to be going okay.
Whew. I'm tired now trying to think and stuff. I promise I'm back and I won't let you go so long from hearing from me again. I missed blogging, I really did. So here's to another 900 posts and fun and games in love and war.
