Quantum of Solace
Wow. What an unbelievable night. My dreams came true, more than I ever thought was possible.
Suffice it to say, Quantum of Solace was amazing. Nevermind that I was on the second row...but really, it was awesome. it was hard to follow at times, but overall I enjoyed the movie.
My weekend is going fantastically. Things are good. Things have somewhat resolved themselves with SwingKid. in fact, we are back together. I feel good about this. What I love even more is that last night he told me that he loved me. Twice. That's probably the best thing in the world. The fact that I know that he loves me. Cause heaven knows that I love him more than anything.
So...I don't know where things are going to end up for the two of us, but I have good feelings about being with him again. Hopefully I don't eat my words.
This comic came up in our conversation last night:
Pretty awesome no? I love xkcd comics. So much fun, and now I must leave you. I have a paper to finish, rock climbing to attend to, and my hair to dye. ;) Love ya!!

4. Snuggled in my bed with someone who loves me is where I'd rather be at any given time.
5. The smell of pine reminds me of Christmas.
6. Someone to hold me is what I need right now!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Quantum of Solace!, tomorrow my plans include dyeing my hair and swing dancing and Sunday, I want to see Bassbob!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
I love Thanksgiving. Yummy food, football, family, and friends are a few of the things that make Thanksgiving festive. (that's a lot of alliteration...)
however, this year, due to the recent move of my family to Virginia, i am having Thanksgiving with family friends. My first non-family Thanksgiving! It's going to be an interesting experience...but I plan on enjoying it as much as possible. And now I want to share with all y'all 100 things I am thankful for, and I hope you take time today to ponder on all the things YOU are thankful for! Happy Turkey day!

my song....
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,

speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Fatherly Advice
I love Google chat. It's a life saver for more than one reason. One of those reasons is that it allows to me to talk to my father who is 2,000+ miles away. While it can be hard to get things across when chatting online, my dad and I do an okay job of communicating.
After everything that happened with SwingKid last night, I've been kind of lost and confused.
Well, lucky for me, my daddy was online and we were able to chat for a good hour or so about the situation, my thoughts, my plan of action and all of that good stuff.
He gave me a quote from Wayne Dyer: "All of these things are on their way, they will arrive on time, and they will arrive in ways and in quantities greater than I have ever imagined."
("things" refers to the desires of our hearts and are always mentioned in relationship with the statement "for the good of all concerned")
I believe that statement. I am acting on my faith that the Lord knows best. He's told me that I get to make my own decisions and that I won't be led away while making those decisions. I know that this is true. I know that everything with SwingKid will work out. I definitely feel that he and I are not "finished" yet and that he and I will probably have a conversation someday about "us" and what he's figured out since we've broken up. I can't get back together with him if he hasn't really resolved his issues that caused us to break up. So...in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy life. I'm going to live like I've never lived before. I'm also going to enjoy my haircut tomorrow and look forward to dyeing my hair on Saturday. :-)

WHAT THE HECK????
First off, I'm glad I have had much support in my playerness. Thank you.
Second of all....SwingKid has been very jealous/missing me lately and it has been pretty obvious in his actions towards me. Last night I could tell that he was slightly jealous and missing me. Today he suggested that we go to a movie this week when we hang out (we decided to hang out this coming week sometime) and then later tonight he texted me and said he was in the area and he was going to stop by. I said sure. So...he came over.
He was SO touchy and acted like he wanted me. He flirted with me, stayed at the apartment while I went visiting teaching AND when I came back and he was on the couch and I sat on the floor, he played with my hair for like 45 minutes straight. What am I supposed to do about that??? Then we had a full on tickle war on the couch and when he left he gave me one of the most amazing hugs ever.
Roommate M said she saw him staring at me at one point, Roommate R thought he was going to kiss me during our tickle war (as did I...) and I just don't know what's going on with him. I have a feeling we'll be having a 'conversation' at some point during our togetherness this week.
Sigh. I don't know what to do. I've been working on getting over him, but this weekend I have thought about him a lot and how I don't want to be with anyone else. Ever. He's the one I want. I choose him, but I'm not sure if he would choose me. I still love him. I really truly do. Right now, I don't think I could love anyone else. Even Rescue Ranger. Who...as nice as he is, I don't think anything is going to happen with him and I don't feel about him they way I've felt about SwingKid. argh....I wish life were easy....

so what...
well mr. anonymous....i know you must be rather disgusted by my playerness...but guess what? i don't care. yeah, i'm a player and i know it. i like to flirt. in fact, i flirt shamelessly ALL THE TIME. my husband had better be a good flirt or else we won't be getting married. the thing is, sure, i'm a player when i'm not dating anyone, but once any hint of committment starts to settle in, i stop being a huge player and i only flirt hardcore with my significant other. so there.

Resuce Ranger, Mad Dog and the ice cream that wasn't bought...
okay. First of all. today ended up being interesting to say the least.
Let's start with the first few hours of my evening. It all began with Rescue Ranger picking me up a little after 7. We went to Kneader's and ate amazing soup and bread and stuff. We talked forever. It was pretty much awesome. However, he had me home by 9 pm (on a Friday night!) and almost made it to my doorstep, not quite...but he did give me a decent hug.
So...sitting in my apartment a little after 9 after recounting the story to roommates and such...I decided I would hit my swing friend Mad Dog's party for his birthday which is next week. It was a fun party that ended with us watching Flightplan. Mad Dog very smoothly picked up on all of my ridiculous amounts of flirting (it was hard core y'all) and very deftly put his arm around me. Awesome cuddling ensued. It was exactly what I was looking for tonight. I've missed that. I had promised him, for his birthday present, a dance beyond his wildest dreams. So...after the movie we went back to his garage, put on some good dancing songs and danced. It was great. He kissed me on the cheek...and I was leaving myself open for him to kiss me, wondering if I really should since I knew it wouldn't mean anything, lending myself to a NCMO evening. Well, we talked about the possibility. However, when I came out and said I wasn't a NCMO type of girl and that I want someone to kiss me who means it and he said that he didn't know me well enough to do that...we ended up not making out. Which was kind of sad. I kinda wish I had, but at the same time...it's a very good thing I didn't do that.
So...Rescue Ranger = awesome date. Would love to do it again. We'll see if he does anything.
Mad Dog = in Wyoming for the next week, probably won't see him until Swing Dancing the following week.
and the ice cream that wasn't bought...well...that's because I'm a good girl and didn't give into any NCMO. Although I really want to kiss someone...

Rescue Ranger update
Okay. So he called me. First of all...he has a sexy voice. He sounds so nice. I am really excited to meet him. Second of all, he's had a cold (the poor thing!) and so we're ditching the star party. I'm only slightly disappointed. See...I hate freezing to death and I was scared of that happening tonight. Therefore...the thought of not freezing to death while with a cute boy is a really nice one. He's taking me to Kneader's (oh yummy, yummy goodness!!) and from there the night is unplanned. However, I have hopes of doing something after dinner. I don't know what, but something would be awesome.
I'll be sure to update all y'all with the way things go tomorrow morning. I know you'll be waiting for it.

Flu Shots
With the cold season upon us people are starting to get flu shots. Have you ever gotten a flu shot? Well...I haven't. I've considered. Many times in fact. However, I can never seem to justify it. I haven't had the flu in years (knock on wood) and the first time I was horribly sick since moving out of my parent's house was in January. It was awful, but I did have some awesome hallucinations. However, it wasn't the flu. So...should I get a flu shot this year? I'm thinking not...but who knows YOU might be the one to change my mind....

Analytics
There are SO many cool things you can do with Google Analytics on one's blog. Google Analytics is a cool feature where you can see statistics about your blog.
Well, one of the cool things you can view is how people found your blog through keywords on Google. I'm going to list 5 of them, in order of least to most funny. Here it goes:
5. "elephant sneeze" - okay...dude. elephant sneeze? really?
4. "flats with white socks" - he he he. I love that someone searched for this. I totally did a blog post on it awhile back. Love it.
3. "byu ballet" + blog - not necessarily funny, BUT really AWESOME!!!
2. "sheri dew roommate fiance" - bwa ha ha ha!!! Okay, I have no idea who searched for THAT and came across my blog, but that's just plain AWESOME!!!
and my favorite...
1. "babushka fart" - he he he. This is by far my favorite. I really don't think I ever mention farting on my blog, but maybe I should. Maybe it would bring more people in...
Okay, also...another AWESOME feature of Google Analytics is a map tracker of where people come from. I almost have had visitors from every one of the 50 states, I just need someone from North Dakota (but who lives there?), Arkansas and Mississippi! My favorite list to look at is those are my international visitors (how DO they find me?) so my favorite countries that people come from....
5. Austrailia
4. South Africa
3. Netherlands
2. Singapore
1. Cyprus
and many others!! YAY!! my favorite is the one that says "not set" wha??

and my favorite...
3. Netherlands
2. Singapore
1. Cyprus

music
remember this post and this one about me and music? well it really does help. a lot. this song is my song of the month: Today I Sing the Blues. Just read the lyrics, and then go listen to it here. It is awesome.
yes it must be, it must be meant for me
that i should be the one,
be the one to always lose, hooo.
for yesterday!
yesterday this time i'd sing a love song whoaoohhh!
yeah, but right now - im singin the blues!
who-o-oh ye-he-heah! -- today i sing the blues
Without a word of warnin' blues
walked in this mornin'
and circled 'round my lonely room.
i didn't know why i had that sad
'n lonely feelin' until my baby called
and said we were through, hooo.
for yesterday this time
i sang a lovesong but today
... i'm singing the blues.
Hmmmm...
strikes me kinda funny how love can be this way
we were lovin' 'til last night honey, yeah.
i'm alone again today
and it strikes me kinda funny
how fate can be unfair
that i come right on the losin' end
in every, every love affair!

Elite Hall Benefit Dance
Last night I had the opportunity to venture into the cold north parts of Utah to attend a benefit swing dance. Holy cow it was soooo much fun!! I danced with a whole bunch of different leads. They were all good and I definitely felt like I learned alot. It was nice to dance with some people that weren't from BYU Swing Kids. I love the BYU leads though. I danced with a lot of them at the same time.
Here's the funny thing...SwingKid went up as well, and we actually ended up in the same car. Picture this, one small little car with no leg room in the back. I volunteered to sacrifice myself and sit in the middle back seat with a guy on either side of me (I know, big sacrifice right?) well, on my left was B* and on my right was... SwingKid. It was entertaining. The ride up we just talked mostly, I did lean forward at one point and catch a wink of sleep and both guys took it up on themselves to scratch my back. :o) The fun hit on the way home. We left the cold north parts of Utah at 1:00am with a two-hour drive ahead of us. SwingKid had told me I could lean on his shoulder if need be. Well over the course of the drive I ended up with my head in his lap and his head on my back. It was actually fairly comfortable. It wasn't weird either. I could have put my head on the other guy's shoulder, but he was keeping the driver awake, so it was all SwingKid. It was interesting. I still like the kid, I think he's amazing, but at the same time I don't think we'll end up back together any time soon. I do think he got jealous a couple of times which I thought was great. :-)
And now I'm off to go to church with Papa Funk and CPM. Getting home at 3 in the morning is not helpful for 9 am church. he he he. Have a great Sunday y'all!!

a fun little story
So. I have a story for all y'all.
So...almost two weeks ago on Halloween Eve, my family (that now lives in Virginia) was at the ward Halloween party. The very nice, young (single), Elder's Quorum President (who will hereto be known as Rescue Ranger) sat down next to my mother (who was high on sugar) and father and started up a nice conversation.
Well, come to find out, Rescue Ranger is from the northern Utah area. He works in VA where my family lives, but his family is here. He mentioned that he would be traveling to Utah in the coming weeks for the Thanksgiving holiday and my mom said that he should look me up. So he asks if I have a cell phone and if he could get my number. So my wonderful father gives him my number.
He then asks if they had a picture of me. Well, my parents don't just carry around pictures of their favorite, oldest daughter but they told him they would email him one. So they did, on November 2nd.
Well, yesterday, November 11, Rescue Ranger emailed my mom thanking her for the pictures and then emailed her again asking for my email address. He then sent me an email today and asked if we could get together sometime after he lands in Utah (which is Saturday). Imagine my surprise!!! Well, I emailed him back and thus begins my escapades with the Rescue Ranger. He's taking me to a star party on November 21st and we'll see what happens from there.
I'm actually kind of excited about this turn of events, and we'll see where it takes me. Not that I am looking for a new relationship immediately, I mean, I did just break up with SwingKid. BUT I am definitely open to meeting new people, going on dates, and seeing what is in store. :-) Oh the excitement that is my life!

changes
i told you i get bored with my background easily. well...i've changed it again. :-) I rather like it. it will probably stay this way until december. :) yay for photoshop!
Alishka Babushka and her terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night
here are the 5 reasons for my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad night:
AND NOW!
Friday Fill-ins!
1. My blueprint for success includes faith, hope, and prayer.
2. Chocolate candy corn was the last candy I ate. But I'm about to eat my chocolate symphony bar!
3. The best facial moisturizer I've ever used is Mary Kay something or other.
4. Crying, chocolate and ice cream can be good therapy.
5. I'd like to tell you about my family.
6. Optimism is my strongest characteristic.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Ballet Showcase with my date!, tomorrow my plans include BYU football, studying for a midterm, and the jumping gym and Sunday, I want to make a pie!
- senior project proposal: REJECTED for more reasons then I want to go in to detail right now. It was awful. I was upset. Crying in my car driving to Lindon when...
- my car had a flat tire. I drive to a gas station to fill it with air....and then i realize i probably shouldn't have tried to drive 3 blocks on a flat tire...i destroyed the tire by pulling the valve away from the tire itself which meant that
- i had to change my tire. which i don't even know HOW to do. and...i don't have a jack. so i call people
- two boys from my ward come to rescue me with a symphony chocolate bar. (they are awesome) and it's now 7:05 and I had to be at the studio that was 20 minutes away in 10 minutes.
- so...i was 15 minutes late to teaching.

Thankful Thursday
Today is a very thankful thursday!
1. I am thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me
2. I am thankful for my super duper amazing roommates who have been with me every step of this hard, hard road.
3. I am thankful for a wonderful Bishop who gives amazing advice. My favorite bit that he gave me on Monday was this: "We can almost never see the promised land from where we are standing. We must first cross the desert."
4. I am thankful for the feelings of closure that happened last night. It was weird that they came so quickly, but I feel SO good about how things have ended between SwingKid and me. (or is it I? I can never remember?)
5. I am thankful for my parents who love me. Yay!!

the song of my life this week:
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don’t bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok
But that’s not what gets me
What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin’ to do
It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I’m doin’ It
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
Not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do
That don’t bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok
But that’s not what gets me
What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin’ to do
It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go

Rascal Flatts' version is my favorite although the CASCADA one is good too

Monday!!!!
Last night I did the hardest thing ever. I broke things off with SwingKid. We have been on a "break" for the past week and a half and it has not been a cake walk. I couldn't handle it anymore. Add to that the feelings of needing to let him go all the way so he can find himself and the answers he's looking for led me to my decision.
I'm going to miss. Heck, I HAVE been missing him for the past 10 days, but I know that I can work through this.
My scripture for the month is Philippians 4:13. It's a great scripture and gives me much strength. SwingKid and I plan on staying friends and who knows maybe someday he'll come to his senses and we'll try again or maybe I'll meet someone new. In any case, I'm just going to work on having fun by myself and with my girlfriends and life will take care of itself.

Daylight Savings Ends
I love the end of Daylight Savings...and extra hour of sleep? Bring it on! I feel so refreshed this morning. Sometimes I wish Daylight Savings happend more often...but alas it does not.
In other news I look HOT today. I'm wearing my two power colors: black and green. Add to that my awesome 3" boots and a good hair day and life is great. :-)
Enjoy your Sabbath y'all!

All Saint's Day
Salt Lake City
Jordan River
and
Provo
It was a fantastic day. Although the answers I got while in these temples wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I'll listen. This means hard things are coming. I'm not a fan of hard things, but hard things must be done.
Also, I'm shooting to try and do this: NaBloPoMo so please support me?
Also!!! Gretchen sent me to this page on how to improve some traffic to blogs and I am SO in. So there you go. Fun things for you. Hopefully it off-sets the hard things for me....
