Final March Friday
Friday madness. There is much about this friday....I hope you enjoy all my posts. :o)
1. "In a hole in the ground there lived a rabbit."
2. "I aint the prettiest girl 'round, but that ain't no matter."
3. "After dark the rain began to fall again, them toads just hopped down the road, not a care in the world."
4. "Then I picked him up from the hold of the Spanish galleon."
5. "There was a hand in the darkness, and she screamed bloody murder."
6. "Accidents ambush the unsuspecting, sleeping dolts."
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a dollar movie with SwingKid, tomorrow my plans include many different things and Sunday, I want to take a nap!

not cool...
okay. this is not cool at all. blah. i'm not excited for the next week:
why is it going to be SO COLD?? and where is SPRING?
why is it going to be SO COLD?? and where is SPRING?
still waiting...
yes. i'm still waiting. there has been NO phone call and it's driving me nuts.
in other news, my horoscope was RIGHT ON today:
Your energy may be a bit scattered (why yes it has!), Alishka Babushka, and although your days are jam-packed with activities and events, you still go to sleep every night feeling like you didn't get anything done. (dude! did you like read my mind last night as I went to bed? this is EXACTLY how I felt! I did 5,000 things and yet when I went to bed felt incomplete...wow) It is time to prioritize. Examine all the things that you do for others versus all of the things you do for yourself. You may be surprised at the imbalance that you have created in your world. (i think there is always imbalance in my life. i should fix that) Use this day to do things for yourself instead of serving the whim of others. (ha! yeah right. there's no time for "me" today....sigh.)
So yeah...way to be horoscope. way to figure my life out for me. sigh. Why won't this guy just CALL ME already???

ouch
so. with the green light from my trainer to dance without tape, i took a beginning ballet class last night. well, while doing an EXTREMELY simple step, my knee popped (like it's been doing for the past few days) and then it swelled up.
I went to the trainer this morning and my knee had an inch of swelling (yes, i was a good girl and iced it last night, i promise) and so he put me in this really cool contraption called the Game Ready that sent ice to wrap around my leg and put compression on it. it was nifty.
Hopefully it gets back to normal quickly. here's hoping.

the interview
was short and sweet. i don't know if that's a good sign or not.
i liked the guy.
it would be a good job. i would love it.
i think.
i'll hear back by Wednesday. or so I'm told. :o)
stay tuned.

stupid or in love?
I'll let you decide after you hear this story.
SwingKid emailed me early Saturday afternoon to tell me that 1)he lost his phone, thus why he hadn't texted me back or anything and 2)his car was unlocked, but parked outside my complex and would i mind going and locking it?
So, I did what any good girlfriend would do and i went out to his car to lock it, but before i did, i took a quick scan of his car and found his phone on the passenger seat. I took it so that no one would try to steal it from his car (it's a REALLY nice phone), locked the car and went back to my apartment. I sent him an email back informing him of my discovery but knowing he probably wouldn't check his email until he got back i sent a text to a mutual friend to tell SwingKid of said discovery.
I knew SwingKid would be home sometime last night. I just didn't know when. He had told me they were hoping to leave like 10-11am ishj from Sacramento which meant that 10 hours later he would be home. Well, at midnight he still wasn't home and I knew that he would need/want his phone back and I really wanted to see him (I'm selfish like that). so I put a sticky note on his car telling him that I had his phone (in case he still didn't know that) and that I was sleeping on the couch and he could knock and i would wake up.
3:45 this morning there was a knock at the door. I rolled off the couch, looked through the peep hole and with sleepy eyes smiled as i opened the door and pulled SwingKid into my arms. I was one happy (yet very sleepy) Alishka Babushka. I gave SwingKid his phone, told him the happy news (which i realize you don't know yet, so here goes) that I have a job interview today and a different work schedule, so I'll see him when I'm done? He smiled at me, gave me a kiss told me to get more sleep and said he'd wait for my call. How i love that man. I grabbed my pillow and blanket from the living room, sleep walked my way into my room and fell asleep.
So that's where I am this morning. Slightly sleepy from a strange night's sleep and yet so happy because I saw my boy. Even when it's just for a moment it makes me so happy. I know that I'll be fine today because I saw him. :-) Have a great Monday y'all!!!

GREEN!!!!!
I love when I randomly end up wearing the same color shirt as one of my coworkers on any given day.
Today is the ultimate "same color shirt" day.
It's St. Patrick's Day.
I'm wearing green.....are you??

it's over....
So, my life went on stage this weekend. well...practically my life. My senior project was performed this weekend in Ballet Showcase's show. My girls did a fabulous job and I was so proud of them. The piece ended beautifully and I was truly pleased with it.
There were 3 awesome things that happened in conjunction with my senior project.
1. SW one of my former instructors and directors of Ballet Showcase complimented me on a piece well done. She told me it touched her and she was impressed with how I had grown in my choreographic skill. This was HUGE because SW practically never compliments people. So I was rather happy about that.
2. SR another former instructor, former director of Ballet Showcase and current director of Theater Ballet was sitting right in front of me during the show Saturday night. Well the instant the curtain went down and the lights came up for intermission (my piece was directly prior to intermission) SR turned to me and praised me on a job well done. She too, was impressed by my growth from last year. She loved the piece and thought it beautiful.
3. Finally! My Aunt F and cousins C and DJ were able to come down (with the cousins' significant others. :o) ) to see the show. I hadn't seen them in a VERY long time, and it was so nice of them to come and see my piece! My aunt and I had a great time sitting next to each other during the show and during intermission we were able to discuss my process of creating "Arms of Safety."
After the show on Saturday night my family, SwingKid, and roommates all went to my apartment for Caramel Pecan Cheesecake. It was so good and a ton of fun to catch up with the fam. After they left SwingKid and I stayed up watching Big Bang Theory and talking. It was a fabulous weekend.

FRIDAY the 13th!!
Let's all pray that this friday the 13th goes better than my last friday the 13th....
1. When I look to the left, I see my coworker's desk.
2. there is no room that has the best view in my home.
3. Let it work it's magic!
4. ringtones done dirt cheap! aka FREE!! (phonezoo.com)
5. Keeping our neighborhoods safe is a responsibility that all qualified citizens must share.
6. If you have any chocolate feel free to share with me :-).
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting my haircut and my senior project being premiered! , tomorrow my plans include teaching ballet and my senior project being performed (friends and family are coming!) and Sunday, I want to relax, and read a good book!

Time Flies!!!
Time has been quickly, silently flying by for me in my little world. Let me see if I can catch you up on my life for the past week or so.
Birthday Recap
This day was AWESOME! It was my birthday and I had a splendid time. My ballet girls decorated the studio, kidnapped me, and surprised me with breakfast. :-) It was so much fun! After ballet, I went to campus to set my spacing for senior project. (more on that later) Then it was home to shower and get all cute for the rest of my day! Roommates LZ, R, and J along with Roommate J' BF, SwingKid and I all went up to play mini-golf. It was a BLAST! Then SwingKid and I went to Tucanos for dinner. Oh my gosh. I LOVE this restaurant. It is so good. After filling ourselves with an assortment of meats (my favorite still being the garlic sirloin. i need a recipe for this) we walked around the mall to settle our stomachs. Then it was back to my apartment for some fabulous cake made my Roommate R herself
Senior Project Recap
At the beginning of this week, I thought that life was going to be INSANELY busy with rehearsals every night until all hours and I had a few concerns about my project. However, up to this point I haven't been on campus later than 8:30pm, my piece looks fabulous and I'm not stressed AT ALL. My piece gives me chills everytime I see it. It's exactly how I first pictured it way back in November when everything fell apart. Now, every time I see it, the chills run up and down my spine and my eyes tear up. It's going to be fabulous.
If you want to come, order tickets here. It's going to be grand, the rest of the show is beautiful and I encourage you to get out of the house and become cultured!!!! :-)
Love y'all!!!

Birthday Weekend Friday Fill-in
first off...I found my purse. It was at the studio. Thank goodness!
1.Picking up a student for ballet class was my last random act of kindness.
2. Another place another time.
3. Who knows what goes on in matters of the heart.
4. Coffee, tea or tobacco are against my value system: the Word of Wisdom.
5. Sometimes friends take separate paths.
6. Our snowy weather reminds me that there is still 3 weeks of Winter.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to just chilling, tomorrow my plans include MY BIRTHDAY!!! (mini-golf, Tuchano's with SwingKid and cake and ice cream at 9p (my apt. you're invited) and Sunday, I want to get some stuff done for my calling!

Freakin' out just a little bit
i've misplaced my purse
it's driving me nuts that i can't find it.
how hard is it to find a smallish black purse? i mean really....
i did this once before. same purse. canceled all my cards - and then found it an hour and a half later. biggest pain of my life. i'm waiting until i check my apartment one more time AND after i check the studio that i was at last night.
i hate losing things. makes my mind go all crazy, my heart stop beating, and the tears flow. here's hoping i find it shortly.

Squeaky Shoes
I bought a pair of Airwalk shoes a while back. They kind of look like the above picture, but are a slightly different color.
Well today, these awesome shoes of mine started squeaking with every. single. step i took. How crazy is that? It actually has been bothering me just a little bit. I mean, who WANTS squeaky shoes? Because then people hear you when you're coming, and who wants that? I like to be sneaky...not squeaky.

lions and lambs
have you ever heard the phrase "in like a lion out like a lamb?" or vice versa? well today came in like a lamb. at least i think so.
today was a beautiful day. full of sunshine and warmer weather. granted, it was only in the 50s, but that was enough for me.
i finished season 1 of Veronica Mars today. I have the best boyfriend ever. Luckily for me, Roommate R's cousin has the 2nd and 3rd season. We have started season 2. I really like the show and i'm sad it didn't go on longer than it did.
i have plans for my birthday this coming weekend. unfortunately Disneyland isn't a part of those plans, but fun times with roommates and SwingKid, yummy food, and awesome cake will be and I'm okay with that. hope you all had a grand weekend! :o) here's to a great Monday!!
