Your Horoscope for JULY 28, 2007
Your sensual, sentimental, and romantic nature is likely to be stirred, Alishka. You smell romance in the air and you long for someone to sit and hold you tight while you watch the sunset. Take long walks whenever you can and collect little things that catch your eye. When you are in love you see beauty in everything and love everywhere. Your creative juices are flowing and you have a tremendous amount of love and grace to share with the world.
too bad i don't have anyone to be romantic with. i do long for someone to sit and hold me tight...however he's not around these days, in fact, i'm not sure i even 'know' who he is. i have my hunches...but that holding tight business is going to take time. dang. too bad that this horoscope is hokey. sigh. i really want it to come true. :P

a random tidbit
so I have decided that I have a favorite office supply. Can you guess what it is? It is a paperclip. yes. a paperclip. why might you ask?
well first of all, a paperclip can come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors!
second of all, if you have paperclips, you need nothing else: you don't need staples, tape, or binder clips. paperclips and do it all.
i wonder what the world would be like with out paper clips? i don't even want to know....
so there you go folks of the blogging world, alishka loves paperclips. :P

a Harry Potter-ific weekend
*I solemnly swear that there are no spoilers in this post*
Okay...so i had a great weekend. Well...maybe i should start with thursday night. thursday night i went and played volleyball with some friends. my summer fling was there, and he was quite stand-offish towards me, which i couldn't understand because he's the one who burned me, and i should be the one acting all weird and such...but oh well. i ignored it. i did get injured playing volleyball, some guy accidentally stepped on my foot when we both jumped up to the ball. sigh. it hurt real bad.
so friday, with a bruised foot that didn't want to point, i went to ballet class...it was okay. but my foot hurt. a lot. then i went on my date with my work boyfriend. he and i went to d.i. to get stuff for 80's outfits, and i bought this ridiculous belt and some sweet silver flats with sequins on them. they are really cool. then we went to dinner at magleby's fresh. SO good!!! we followed dinner up with going to see harry potter #5 (my second time, his first) which was amazing. Then we went to the bookstore and picked up harry potter #7. i started reading that night.
Saturday i went to a baptism for a guy i know, which was super cool. i haven't been to a baptism since my littlest sister's and it was way cool! which at said baptism my summer fling actually was cordial back to me and sat next to me. i was much impressed. and i feel better about the whole situation. after the baptism i went to brick oven with a slew of peeps from the ward. one of them was BC, one of my fhe brothers that i think is pretty attractive, and really nice. it was way fun. i then went up to campus and studied for a couple of hours and got home to my house at about 4:45. the minute i walked in the door i continued to read harry potter #7. 3.75 hours later i finished it. it was amazing. i laughed, cried, rejoiced, and overall felt wonderful about the book. i do think it's her best work yet and i really enjoyed reading it. it was wonderful. :D
and that leaves us at today. today is sunday. wonderful sunday. i have church, and i'm going to wear my sweet blue glittery skirt today that will match my sweet silver flats (b/c i don't want to wear heels due to my lovely, bruised foot), and pretty much i'm going to look cute. i'm excited!!! and for now, that's all. ciao.

is it too much to ask??
a question for all y'all out there...
is it too much to ask for a girl to find a boy who likes to play and have fun at things that don't cost a thing?
example #1: i had a blind date on saturday, and while it was a ton of fun and i had a blast (unlike most blind dates) I felt like he felt he had to spend a lot of money for it to be a good date. now I know Elder Oaks said a number of years ago that dates should be planned, paired off, and paid for...but he also said that the paid for doesn't have to be super expensive!!! So while on this blind date i felt like he was spending a ton of money, when I would rather do something that didn't cost as much money, but was still just as fun.
example #2: on friday i have a sort of date with my work boyfriend. he and i are going to the Harry Potter release party for the 7th book. i'm not going to lie, i am SUPER excited about this date thing. I mean really. All I want is good company, and loads of fun!!!! It doesn't have to cost a load of moolah...sheesh...
so now the question is out there. are there really guys who still like to do things that don't cost money but that don't consist of just cuddling on the couch? (although i like that too....) I love playing games and such and would love to just have someone like me that loves to just play and have fun...no matter the cost (even if there is none).

thoughts on top of my head
so i was thinking that i haven't said much lately about my life. after a horrible mid-week crisis in which i almost went crazy and died, i can honestly say that i'm doing absolutely wonderful and that i LOVE life!!
it's kind of a long story, but after i didn't do so well on an accounting test on tuesday i came home to study my brains out. i was doing laundry and studying, and i get an email from off-campus housing office saying that my house is non-compliant and not byu approved (news to me) and i have a whole bunch of options of things i can do before monday or i get to pay $25....urg. it was very retarded. so i filled out a waiver, and found out last night that everything was approved and i'm good to go. thank goodness!!!
so friday night i went 5 of my really good guy friends from high school and saw harry potter #5! i loved it! then tonight i had a blind date. he was a really nice guy, and he's way fun...but i'm not sure if i'm super interested. i definitely am okay with having him as a friend, but then i don't think i really want a relationship right now anyways. i did meet a new friend last weekend who i have been communicating with recently, i think we're going to chill sometime this week. tomorrow is the homecoming for one of my best friends from high school and my work boyfriend (long story...we're not really dating...i just call him my work boyfriend. lol) and i are going to go to the harry potter release party at the bookstore on friday. wahoo. so pretty much my life rocks. the end.

dreams are funny things
i have decided that me and my dreams like to get carried away. i have also decided that this song:
is pretty much true. sigh. dancing last night was super fun. I had a blast, but then that's not hard to do, truth be told. I enjoy it so much!!! :)
anywho...i really don't want to do any studying today, but I must if I'm going to stay on top of my schoolwork. So I really should leave you now...but sigh...there are so many thoughts going on in my head. URGH! I wish I could just run away for a day and just play all day long....with someone who actually means something to me...but that probably won't happen for awhile...until then though, i think I will study accounting. :S ciao.
A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true

maybe...
this is a sign of things to come? like i've said before, i don't take much stock in astrology or my horoscope, but i find them entertaining to read, and sometimes they do make me feel like the day is going to be okay...like today's:
There is a cushion for you to walk on today, Alishka, so why make it difficult for yourself when there is comfort and pleasure right under your feet? Feel free to go out on a limb today. Your bravery will pay off tremendously, so have faith in the safety net below you and go for it. There is confidence in knowing that you inner thoughts and emotions are aligned with your outward performance.
For those of you that know my situation of what I am going into very soon...this is very helpful and I hope that all works out well. sigh. and now it's back to work.

anticipation
so i kind of have a date tonight, and i have a dancing date tomorrow night and i'm anticipating both with butterflies in my stomach. tonight b/c my date is really cute, i work with him, and we're good friends. :) tomorrow night's anticipation comes b/c this is an old crush that i've dreamed about, and i'm hoping that i haven't opened a can of worms by asking him to go dancing with me. all in all, this weekend shall prove interesting and intriguing. sigh. my life is so complicated. :S
this is perfect.
so after an interesting holiday filled with good food, fun, family and friends (that's a lot of f words...) and trying to give off the right signal of just wanting to be friends with someone that i'm not interested in dating at all i thought this comic was cute. however, i'm picky with the person that gets to 'hold' me. even though i think it fixes lots of things, and makes one feel better...there are some people that i don't want to hold me. sigh. but it's cute anyways. enjoy!

life happens!
oh my goodness. it's been way too long since i last wrote. dang. a lot has happened since that day of burning sensation in my eyes. for one, things with that boy are pretty much done. we're friends, but not much more these days, but i'm quite good with that. in fact, i love flirting with others and enjoy goofing off, although i do miss having someone to automatically hang out with on the weekends, but its all good. :)
i started classes this past monday. they are intense and there is a lot of homework involved, but i have stayed on top of my work and i'm actually ahead in my accounting class, almost by a week! hurrah for me! :) AND i have found my passion for my dance history research, so that's exciting, and i am really super excited about working on my research papers and project, it's cool stuff.
as for other news, i have spent a lot of time lately with Mighty Mouse, KW, NC, and RW from high school. also, last night when i was hanging out with the Payson Gang, Mighty Mouse's roommate: (MMR) came and he's really nice, super flirty and we flirted it up something hard core last night. it was funny. and not that i was trying to get somethign going on, but if he asked me out, i think i would be okay with that. ;) ha ha ha. i'm such a girly-girl. goodness. well...my room is a disaster and i need to shower before church, so i'm outta here! i hope to update a little more frequently. ;)
