reason #562

So...in answer to the commenters' question: SwingKid knows of my blog, but doesn't keep on it. He did mention the other day that he thought he should, BUT...he doesn't. he he he. However, I wouldn't post anything that I wouldn't tell him anyways...

So Reason #562 and how SwingKid gets brownie points:

I get home from VA, leap into the arms of my awesome boyfriend, and he tells me of our plans for New Year's Day. See, he got the day off (unusual) and promised to spend the day with me and take me to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time, and was so excited that he planned to take me to it. So cute.

THEN today, he totally just stopped by after work to see me. Love it!!! :-)

New Year's Eve part dos

So, after all of my plane switching adventures, I landed in SLC at 7:30p, picked up my luggage and went outside to meet the love of my life. SwingKid was waiting for me and having him greet me and kiss me hello was the best thing ever.

We drove down to his fun little apartment for a mocktail party. I just sat and enjoyed his presence. sigh. he's the best.

The mocktail party was awesome! I tried  a "Safe Sex on the Beach" and "Lime Cola." Pretty much awesome little mocktails. As the night went on there was some dancing, laughter, and watching the ball drop at midnight. I got my new years kiss, which was awesome. Not that we needed an excuse to kiss, but it was great!!

The party came to  a close about 2 am and while everyone was cleaning up, I was falling asleep on SwingKid's couch. See...at this point I had been up for about 22 hours. I was SO tired. However, SwingKid was a sweetheart and falling asleep on his couch while people cleaned was okay by him.

I finally went to bed about 2:30 in the morning and slept in until 9ish or so. So there you go folks...that was the rest of my New Year's Eve...keep staying tuned for SwingKid's earning of brownie points and how Bob the Fish died.

promises....

okay, I promised the story of my new year's eve adventures, and we'll start with my airplane adventures since that's where the day began.

So...I was due to fly out of Dulles International Airport at 1:00pm landing in JFK at 2:30 pm and then leaving JFK at 3:30pm to land in SLC at 7:03pm.

However, the wind on the 31st of December in Dulles was pretty harsh. At some parts of the day it got up to 50 mph!! Well...I'm sitting in the airport at 12:30 and our plane starts to get boarded. I'm not special enough to go first, but those 1st class peeps start to get on the plane and they don't get 10 ft down the walkway when the captain stops them and says the wind is too harsh and they're going to have to delay. I started to hear rumors of a 2-hour delay, but they would check conditions in one. YIKES! I was paranoid before about missing my connecting flight, but now there was NO way I would make it. Within 1 minute of the notice of being delayed the flight attendants called me up to the desk and told me they were putting me on the direct flight Dulles-SLC that left at 4:24 pm. This was fantastic news, besides the point that I had to now sit in the airport for four hours. :P

Now we interject to tell you why i think this story is amazing. See, two days prior I had had awful nightmares about missing my connector flight and dealing with the layover. See, this was only my second flight, my first being TO virginia. I woke up in a panic and had been praying for days that everything would work out and I wouldn't miss my connecting flight. But what does Heavenly Father do instead? He puts me on a direct flight! He delays my flight enough that they decide to switch me over.

And this is where things really are amazing. Because with in 20 minutes of the attendant switching my flight, they called boarding for Dulles-JFK. How crazy is that? I would probably not have made my connecting flight if they had waited, but because the attendants are so good to get people to places they made sure to get me on my way the best way possible. And I was blessed to have a delay in my flight so that I would get on the direct flight, which was the best way to fly. :-)

Stay tuned for how the rest of my New Year's Eve panned out, more brownie points for SwingKid, and also how Bob the Fish died on the last day of 2008.

First Friday

1. The world is white and cold with snow: the one downside to being back in Utah.

2. "G'night babe" was the last thing I said.

3. I wonder where things will go in my life.

4. I am praying for happiness at the end of all things.

5. There's something to be said for being in love.

6. Somewhere warm is where I want to be.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to Wii bowling date! and getting Senor Guapo back!, tomorrow my plans include something fun with SwingKid, and Sunday, I want to see old friends again!

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome to 2009!! It's hard to believe that 2009 is upon us. Crazy, really.

It's not too late, but after my super late night last night and everything I've done today I'm super tired and my bed looks so inviting. I have quite the story of my adventures from yesterday...but that will have to come later. So for now, know that I am back in Cougartown, safe and sound. I saw SwingKid and he makes me so happy.

G'night y'all!
