Dating Battle Stories: Sweetums - Part One

{artwork by Roommate A}
Mondays are usually no fun at all. So, to make coming back from the weekend a little bit better I have my last dating recap for you! This one has to be my favorite - which is why it has been saved for last! :o) Today's recap is all about Sweetums. This story ended up being really long, so I've decided to post it in two different posts. :o)

so, without further ado - Part One.

So, I have to start off this story with a little bit of background by saying that Sweetums and I did, in fact, go to high school together. Our groups of friends overlapped, but I never went out with him or hung out with him on a regular basis in high school. After graduating we got to be better friends and talked online all the time. I developed a huge crush on him. During our first semester as freshman at BYU he would stop by my place of employment and say hi all the time. He took me on a group date with his friends once and then about a month later I took him to Fall Preference. It was tons of fun. Then, he went on a mission for our Church. He got back and I was kind of dating someone, then he was dating someone, then we were both dating someones. During this time (aka the past 3 years) we would hang out from time to time, see each other at friends' weddings, talk online, etc. Every time I saw him I was reminded of how awesome this guy is, but wouldn't do anything about it. (usually because of the current relationship status.)

About 6 weeks before SwingKid and I broke up, Sweetums and I had a really good, long conversation about life and what I was doing and how my relationship was going. I got the feeling that Sweetums wished I was single...but didn't dwell on that fact. 3 days after SwingKid and I broke up I got the feeling that I needed to call up Sweetums. Using my favorite social media site Facebook, I sent a message to Sweetums telling him we need to hang out. We talked about 4 days after that and had a really good long conversation that I vaguely mentioned here.

The second Saturday in December I had plans to get some Christmas gifts made for my ballet company, but those plans fell through when the supplies were giving me issues. Sweetums happened to see my online, asked if I'd be available and later called me to hang out. We got some food and then ended up at his place (with a real fireplace!) and roasted marshmallows, starbursts and played video games. Much flirting ensued. We also watched a Muppet movie. I vaguely mentioned this event in this post.

Right before I left to go to Virginia he and I made plans to watch a movie and hang out. I mentioned that here and here. That night was a blast. As I mentioned here, I ended up pulling an all-nighter. We watched the movie and then just got to talking. We were also hanging out with Roommate A and her boyfriend and ended up playing Guitar Hero for several hours. We made mac and cheese at 2 am (such a single thing to do!) and then watched Invader Zim for a little bit. As Roommate A and her boyfriend fell asleep in the cuddle chair, Sweetums and I cuddled on the couch. We ended up talking about a ton of different things and he asked me if he could kiss me. Unfortunately for him I had decided to not kiss anyone until the new year. (I had several reasons for this) We also talked about "us." Some might say we had a DTR. It wasn't meant to be that...but it's kind of what it turned into. Basically...we both admitted to feeling attracted to the other person (and having those feelings for a long time) and we want to explore the possibility of a relationship, but we don't want to rush into anything. I want to date lots of people and he said he wasn't ready to commit to a serious relationship yet. (key word being yet. :o) ) The evening (or should I say morning?) ended about 15 minutes before Roommate A and I left for the airport. Sweetums and I had tentative plans for New Year's Eve - and I knew he and I would be in touch. I was one happy camper getting on the plane that morning. :o)

...........to be continued..........

A Christmas Gift to you - Introductions

My dearest Internet friends. I hope this Christmas morning finds you in places you love most with the people you love most.

I love giving presents.  This year, I was most excited for my gift that I gave my parents.  You see, life has not been very easy for them with still having two houses and the such - and I wanted to do something special for them.  So I gathered up my siblings, we all pitched in and purchased a gift certifiacte to the Bed and Breakfast Association of Virginia. I made my mom tear up (which was totally the goal) and they are excited to use their gift. The greatest thing about it was that when I purchased their gift certificate I entered the drawing for their monthly giveaway....and then I WON! So...My parents got double the amount they would have originally which made it even better. :o) Happy Day.

Now, I have a gift for each of you!!!  Today I am going to introduce you to a new group of characters on my blog and a meme that I would like to call Dating Battle Stories.  Each time I have a fun adventure with dating I will bring up this fun meme.  It won't be a regular weekly thing like my other two memes, but a meme regardless.  Also, each of these Dating Battle Stories will feature a different picture - thanks to my awesome roommate who likes to draw stick figures of me and fun situations with boys.

So...let us begin with the Introductions of the cast of characters from some dating battle stories that I have had as of late. The next couple of weeks will be me playing catch up on the fun times I have had in December and then you can look forward to the occasional Dating Battle Story in the months following as I date and flirt (because I'm really good at doing those things.)

Without further ado....

{artwork by Roommate A}

The Characters:

Sweetums - Named not becuase he looks anything like the muppet....but he does love the Muppets. I know Sweetums from High School. He loves music, pumpkin spice egg nog, and road trips. He's very nice and gives the best hugs. I've crushed on him in times past, but the timing has never quite worked for us.

The Australian - Named because he was born and then lived in (for a few years) Australia. He just got home from his mission in Japan, is Roommate A's boyfriend's friend and is the nicest person ever.

Mad Dog - I've known Mad Dog for years and when I first met him swing dancing that is how he introduced himself. He had a hand in creating Blue Tango (my favorite dancing venue) and has crushed on me for a long time.

Blindman - I haven't met Blindman as of yet. Roommate A is setting me up with this person. All I know about him is that he's "cool" and that he lives with Roommate A's boyfriend.

So there you go. The cast of characters for future Dating Battle Stories. I hope you're looking forward to them. I know I am! Now...I must go and run off that apple pie from last night.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Tender Mercy Tuesday

Welcome to the 2nd addition of Tender Mercy Tuesday.

1.  I have been so happy this past week and I know why and that's just been the best tender mercy ever.

2.  Reconnected with a high school friend and it was SO MUCH FUN. We have plans for the future. Basically we're going to take over the world one muppet at a time. :o)

3.  The weather has been so pretty as of late! I wouldn't mind a little bit of snow (mostly because I want to play in it) but I have enjoyed the sunshine!

What are your Tender Mercies today?

Tuesday!

I am rather excited today is Tuesday! Tuesdays are awesome because they are not Mondays (which aren't ever SUPER awesome. They don't suck, but they don't rock either.) and they are not Wednesdays (and we all know how much I hate Wednesdays).

I teach a ballet class on Tuesdays that I LOVE and I'm excited for my lesson plan tonight.

Also, tonight I am getting my hair done. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do...but I'm thinking something between this:

and this:

I am thinking the bangs from Rory Gilmore and the Haircut from Veronica Mars. We'll see though. I always ask my hairdresser's opinion first (and she's always super honest with me) so we'll see what she says. Also, I have ZERO ideas on color. I think I'll let her surprise me when it comes to that. :o)

Finally. Because it is Tuesday, we've got the Ten on Tuesday meme below. Enjoy your Tuesday y'all!

1. Who makes your Thanksgiving dinner?
well. It depends. the past couple of years I've gone to a family friend's house for dinner. Last year I also made my own dinner the day after for SwingKid because he had to work on Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what's happening yet for this year.

2. What is your favorite recipe the includes pumpkin? (bonus points for including the recipe)
oh i love love love pumpkin crumble. It is delish. I also LOVE my mom's frozen pumpkin pie.

3. What are 5 things you want for Christmas?
a nice hair straightener, a blender, many books, some new ballet music for teaching, and.....some new clothes.

4. Does your family draw names or do you buy for everyone?
well. we "draw names." but this year (and probably every year here on out) we're going to just rotate names, so that we have someone different every year and get everyone at some point.

5. How do you feel about motorcycles?
sigh. I think they are hot and sexy. they are fun. SwingKid loves them and wants one REALLY REALLY bad. They do make me a little nervous, but overall I think I'm okay with them.

6. What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy Saturday?
cuddle on the couch next to SwingKid watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate.

7. What is the coolest thing to do in your city?
well...there are some fun things to do depending on what you like the most. Personally, I like going to artsy events.

8. Do you paint your fingernails?
Yeah. I do. Although nail polish just doesn't seem to last very long. I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

9. Who is your favorite actor over the age of 50?
um...I really suck at the favorite actor/actress business. I don't really have a FAVORITE. Although I always did have a thing for Robin Williams growing up. He's just SO funny!

10. Do you have a high school letter jacket?
nope. I didn't care about it enough to do it.

the REAL Columbus Day

Did you know that the 12th of October is actually the TRADITIONAL Columbus Day? It's a true story!

Today also happens to be my daddy's birthday!! I have the best Dad in the whole wide world and I am so glad that he's mine!! :o) I won't mention his age *cough49cough* but he's still young at heart so it doesn't really matter anyways.

Happy Birthday Dad!

{source}

Also.

Today is Tuesday. So that equals Ten on Tuesday questions! so...here we go!

1. What does your work out schedule look like?
I run on a treadmill on Mondays, take a cycle class on Wednesdays and either go to the gym on Fridays or Saturdays or both and do some running and maybe some strength training. PLUS, I teach ballet 5 days a week. that's got to count for something.

2. What is your favorite machine to use at the gym?
I love the treadmill. Especially one with a tv so I can watch whatever I want.

3. What is your favorite class to take at the gym?
hands down: Cycle. LOVE me a spin/cycle class.

4. Where do you shop for work out gear and clothing?
uh....walmart?

5. If you can’t go to the gym, do you have a favorite outdoor activity?
hmmm. I like to play volleyball. I'm not a huge outside runner...but i will go outside on occasion.

6. What about a favorite work out DVD? If so, please share!
um. I don't have a fave. I have a couple yoga ones, but they don't  come out as often as they should.

7. Are you more active now or when you were in high school?
high school. in a way.

8. How has your dieting/working out philosophy changed since high school?
I actually think about it now. I didn't have to worry in high school. I was tiny and had a VERY high metabolism. I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and was still in little girl sizes when I graduated.

9. What do you do while working out– (i.e., day dream, read, listen to music, gab with a friend)?
i either listen to music or watch a show.

10. What working out resolution would you like to make for yourself this year?
I need to be better about pushing myself while at the gym. I go...but I've been a lazy bum about it.

yawning on Tuesday

{source}
I am yawning today. I even took something to help me sleep, was in bed by 10:30p and was sufficiently tired. I fell asleep quickly enough, but then some awful noisy truck drove by and it woke me up all rude like. After I fell back to asleep again (which was quick enough) I had the oddest dreams. I was fighting over a pair of shorts with my sister and my mom yelled at me about it...yeah. It was odd. I'm not sure where it all came from. All I know is I am sort of tired today and I wish I wasn't because I have THINGS to do today. Sigh. Anyways. It's Tuesday but for workness for me it is Wednesday and I'm just hoping the next few days go by quickly and that Friday is SLOW so I can truly enjoy my long weekend. That was an awful sentence and now the computer is fuzzy. sigh. I need a nap, or some chocolate.

okay, I'm done now. Ten on Tuesday y'all. Love it.

1. How do you take your coffee on an average day? How do you like your coffee if you’re spluging?
I don't drink coffee. As part of my beliefs, I have a testimony of the Word of Wisdom. I actually don't even like the smell of coffee or coffee flavored candies. blech.

2. What is your genre of books to read?
currently I'm on an Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance kick. Basically, I read a lot of everything and anything that is good. I'm a fan of Angieville and other book bloggers which is where I get my recommendations of what to read. Do you have something to suggest?? Cause I'll probably read it...

3. Where do you want to retire, if you could go anywhere?
hmmm. I haven't really thought about this one. If I could pick anywhere? somewhere like Greece or Italy would be awesome. In reality? It will probably be somewhere close to family.

4. The 17-year-old you is told to write a 10-minute speech. What topic would you have picked?
hmmm....This is a toughie. I wasn't a big public speaker then, but it would probably be something on reading and enjoying it, OR about dance. That's all I did in high school: read and dance.

5. What word describes you best?
Tired.

6. What is the next “event” that you are looking forward to? (ex.: vacation, moving, date, job change, etc)
two weeks from today I will be in VA with my family for a few days. I am VERY excited about this. I can't wait to arrive and see VA when it is GREEN!!!

7. Do you like to discuss controversial topics or do you prefer to avoid those types of conversations?
hmm. It depends on how well I can hold my ground on my view and how much I know about the subject as a whole. Otherwise, I just avoid it.

8. Would you rather add 4 free hours to each day, or add 1 extra day to the week?
Hmm. this is a toughie. Right now I think I want the 4 free hours every day. I need time every day, not an extra day to the week. Although, I wouldn't say no to it if that's what the universe decided needed to happen.

9. If you created a sports team; what would your colors and mascot be?
hmmm. I think I would create a team where the mascot was a gorilla. I've never heard of a gorilla mascot. And our colors would be Black and Green.

10. If you had to be a teacher, what subject would you teach?
Well, it just so happens that I am a teacher. I teach ballet. I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other subject in the world.

you know what? 10 questions goes by pretty fast. I'm a fan.

Ten on Tuesday

First of all. I really wish I was more creative with my post titles. Suggestions on how to  be more creative? Maybe there's a creative pill somewhere I can take...

anyways. Here's my take on the Ten on Tuesday questions

1. What was/is your favorite live action (meaning not animated) kids movie?
hmmm...this question is harder than you might think it is! non animated kids movie? I can't remember the last one I saw! I was a huge fan of Free Willy growing up. I think we'll go with that one.

2. What is a bad habit you have? Are you working on breaking it?
I have plenty of bad habits, and I am working on breaking them. I don't plan on sharing them though. they are private.

3. Describe your father in 3 words.
Smart, Fun, Caring

4. Which character in the Breakfast Club were you most like in the ’80s?
I think I've only seen the first 5 minutes of this movie. So....I have no idea. YOU TELL ME!!

5. Name 5 songs you know ALL the lyrics to.
Oh man. I'm pretty sure they're all Disney. I'm too shy to really prove it though. So I'm not sure I really do. I prefer to sing along with a song rather than sing on my own.

6. Do you make pancakes from scratch or a box mix?
I've done both. It really depends. If a mix is on sale, I'll buy it and use it. however, i can totally make them from scratch if necessary.

7. What was your worst job ever? Why?
Hmmm. I've always enjoyed my jobs. The hardest was my paper route I had as a kid. Only because i hated going out in all sorts of CRAZY weather . That was so not fun.

8. What was your favorite class in high school?
High school was a piece of cake. I loved my physics classes, but that's only because I had the most awesome teacher ever. Not because I love science. Quite the opposite really. She made it fun.

9. Favorite summer guilty pleasure?
Summer is non-existent when you're a grown-up with a grown-up job. However, my guilty pleasure is going to the water park on the weekends and playing like a kid. I'm rather excited to do that really soon. :o)

10. Please share your best money saving tip!
I budget. Or at least try to. I discovered (through the recommendation of a friend) Mint.com. This site is awesome and I love how it shows your spending trends, etc. It's really super awesome.  That's my tip.

Have a fabulous Tuesday y'all. I know I will.

Things

First thing: I hope you've been following some of the going ons with Armchair BEA. I have loved the interviews and all the fun posts. It's been pretty fabulous.

Second thing: I am currently in a car. Driving. To Washington. I am rather excited for my little mini-vacation. Sister B and I are going to our cousin's high school graduation. Plus, I really needed a weekend vacation. Right now. Memorial Day came at the PERFECT time. Seriously. This holiday will get me through the next month until the 4th of July. I'm ready for summer. SO ready.

Third thing: Friday Fill-Ins! YAY! I hope you enjoy these and I'll be back on the internets on Tuesday! Much love y'all! Peace!

1. Brownies -- the best food to take on a picnic.
2. Summer can't come soon enough for me right now.
3. I have a love/hate relationship with flip flops.
4. To love someone is to forget yourself.
5. This summer I want to take a really a long hike.
6. When I crave food, it's usually sweet or salty.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to arriving in Washington, tomorrow my plans include hangin' with the cousins and Sunday, I want to go to my first high school graduation since my own!!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

ugh...is it only Tuesday???

oh man. I am wishing I had a nice long vacation to look forward to...but alas, I have no such thing. Although it does look like I'll be traveling to the great state of Washington in the tri-city area Memorial Day weekend for my cousin's High School graduation, but that will be two days in a car and two days with extended family. :o) Not really the vacation I WANT right now. What do I want? I want to spend all day in bed with my awesome book, a bag of m&m's and a diet coke with lime. Sounds divine right now.

sigh.

Last night was the season finale of Castle on ABC. I love that show. I'm excited for the upcoming third season. It should be a good one.

Also, today I am grateful for memes. Ten on Tuesday is going to make this post WAY more interesting. At least, I think it is...maybe I'm wrong. oh well.

1. If your name was a verb, what would “to Chelsea” mean? (Insert your own name though…)
well...to Alishka would mean to do a dance in the hallway celebrating life.

2. What myth have you always wanted to prove or bust?
I really want to bust the myth that bad things happen in threes...but I haven't figured out how to work that yet.

3. If you had the ability to get a message out to the entire world, what would you say?
there are so many things I would want to say that it would probably go one of two ways. one, I would takl so fast that no one would understand a word I was saying; or two, I would just stare at the message system and go um.....

4. I know you’ve answered a similar question before, but it’s been awhile. Please name your current top 10 blogs.
i read SO many blogs. I'm currently in love with the Tasty Kitchen blog, a few book review blogs, and then some others that I like to stalk. I'm a huge stalker.

5. Do you have a junk drawer?
oh yes. I shouldn't though. I need to go through it and get rid of stuff. Since I'm trying to de-junk my life and all that jazz.

6. Bottled water or tap?
usually tap. from my fridge. so filtered?

7. As a kid, did you have a favorite Biblical story?
hmmm...I love Biblical stories, but I can't think of a specific one right now.

8. What is your favorite black and white movie?
Casablanca

9. Aside from your engagement/wedding rings, what is your favorite piece of jewelry that you own? Does it have a story behind it?
Well, I don't have an engagmenet/wedding ring at this time. The only ring I wear is my CTR ring. I wear lots earrings and necklaces...but don't have a favorite. It all depends on the outfit.

10. What sports/activities do you hope your kids will be involved in? (Answer for both a boy and a girl)
Well, I hope they do whatever they want to do in that area. I will support them no matter what. While that may sound like a cop-out answer, I don't want to hold expectations for my children for certain sports/activities. I feel like that is not a good way to do things. (i realize i didn't explain that all that well, but my brain hurts. forgive me)

have a good tuesday y'all.

Ten on Tuesday...

Just like last week, I'm stealing this from those I stalk. *loves*
1. What was your high school superlative (if you didn’t have one- what would it have been)?
I did not have one. I was not that cool. I'm not even sure what it would have been if I HAD had one. HS was so long ago that I don't really care anymore.

2. What sports did you play in high school?
Zero. I danced on a ballet company outside of high school.

3.  What was the best part about your wedding (if you’re not married yet, what are you looking forward to)?
Well. Not married yet, and I'm looking forward to the party. I love parties. Especially when they're all about me and I get lots of presents.

4. It’s your last meal– what Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree and Dessert would you choose?
Appetizer: I LOVE lettuce wraps. Man, I should get me some for lunch today....
Soup: Zupa's Tomato Basil
Salad: Waldorf Chicken Salad from CPK
Entrée: mmm...I want a steak cooked medium with a yummy baked potato and A-1 sauce.
Dessert: Anything with dark chocolate and raspberries - or strawberries. Yummy

5.  What song is your guilty pleasure?

currently anything by Miley Cyrus. I'm not a fan of her, but some of her songs are just so dang catchy and I love them.

6.  What is your favourite professional sports team, and why do you like them?
I don't do professional sports. Only college. only football. And it's my BYU Cougars all the way.

7.  What is your favourite reality show and why do you like it?
So You Think You Can Dance. It starts up again here shortly and I am SO EXCITED!!!

8. How would you classify your home decorating style (modern, classic, French country)?
uh...I have no idea. It's homey??

9. Pizza- deep dish or thin crust? White sauce or red sauce? What toppings?
Regular crust - I like not thick on the bottom, but thick at the ends - like breadsticks! Red sauce (light) and then I LOVE a supreme pizza. I also love a canadian bacon pineapple.

10.  Favourite weekend getaway within a two hour driving radius?
hmmm...I've never "gotten away" within a two-hr driving radius. Probably Park City. I guess.

ALSO! It's Chilly's b-day today. I love her. Go wish her happy birthday. she loves new internet friends. :o)

ALSO 2.0! I took a ballet class last night. It was not one that I teach in any way, shape or form. It was also the first ballet class I took since I tore my ACL. (since before I found OUT I had torn my ACL). It was very scary and yet wonderful all at the same time. My fears are all in my head, my knee performs wonderfully (although not 100% yet) but my brain is still scared of hurting it again. All my current nightmares are of me re-injuring my knee. All in all, it was a great night and I was very happy to  be taking class. Not all of my muscles are happy with me today though. :o) I'm just a wee bit sore.

Bring It On

Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "oh my gosh they have made so many 'Bring it On' movies, I just might puke. And ABC Family LOVES to keep making MORE of them..."

but really, this post is not about some cheerleader changing high schools and having to spice up a new squad's routine in order to beat out her old high school.

No, this post is about this week. I'm READY for you! Bring it on!!!

In other news I have basically accomplished my entire list minus a few items that I have put onto today's to do list. I'm pretty sure I can do ALL of these tonight. In fact, I'm GOING to, because I am awesome like that.

So Monday, you've got nothing on me. I'm ready to kill you in one foul swoop. :o)

TO DO LIST:
  • clean mirror in room
  • Finish my taxes (they've been basically done for WEEKS now, i just have to "sign" them)
  • make one purse (I tried to do this yesterday, but a certain boy distracted me) (ps the other purse I made is freaking adorable and I'm in love with it.)
  • make chocolate truffles that i've been wanting to make for months
  • plan this week's meals
  • create a new awesome lesson plan for the month of April.
  • organize spice cupboards
  • Grocery Shopping

FRIDAY the 13th!!

This is the 3rd Friday the 13th of the year 2009. Kinda intriguing! The first one I tore my MCL, the second one I had my Senior Project go on stage and here we are, the third one of the year. Hopefully things go well today and nothing seriously awful happens. (although the 2nd one wasn't AWFUL...just a little scary for me, but it turned out good!)

1. The last band I saw live was Yanni.

2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is pumpkin pie, cranberry jello salad, and football!

3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is almost done, I just have to place an order online.

4. Thoughts of my knee being 100% better fill my head.

5. I wish I could wear my skinny jeans, but they won't fit over my wrap for my knee.

6. Bagpipes are part of my heritage, and my High School.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to whatever SwingKid plans for us, tomorrow my plans include making SwingKid dinner and taking him to Ballet Showcase and Sunday, I want to read more of Lady of the Forest!

Days Go By....

And days go by...
I can feel 'em flyin'
Like a hand out the window in the wind.
The cars go by...
Yeah it's all we've been given,
So you better start livin' right now
'Cause days go by..

Oh...are you looking at me? Sorry...I was just taking a moment to sing a little something as I wrote this post. :D

So...it's time for all y'all to know my latest and greatest and the countdowns that come with said latest and greatest.

24 days - by this day I will have hopefully have lost 10 lbs (p.s. I have lost 3 to this date...I'm rather excited by this fact)

17 days - Roommate R, Sister B and I are all going to go shopping (yes, we have set a specific date. we might go shopping before....but that shopping trip has a special purpose. :o) )

2. Dear person x I want you to know that i am very upset that you almsot ran me over in my new car. CURSE You!

3. Is that my 5-year high school reunion coming up!!??? NO WAY!!!

4. I'm trying to resist the temptation of sweet. good-bye 10 extra lbs.

5. I'm saving a spot next to me just for you!

6. If I made a birthday list a new iPod would definitely be on it!!!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting together with my payson peeps, tomorrow my plans include bu2 class, webcamin' with the fam and a movie and Sunday, I want to eat yummy food!

And Just to leave you with something fun...my horoscope today really seemed to work :o) Have a good weekend!

You are apt to feel a great deal of support, Alicia, though it might be hidden in rather unexpected places. Don't discount anyone, for even the most caustic remarks are apt to have a touch of sensitivity and progressive thought that can help you out a great deal. There is strength in emotional truth, regardless of how much you don't want to hear it. Bitter pills may be hard to swallow, but they will be good for you in the long run.

First Friday

in June! yay! my life has been a flood of emotions for the past week. I really haven't felt like posting much (you should be grateful I posted on Tuesday at all...). I'm not going to go into details here, it's much to personal to be sharing with the entire world. Suffice it to say that if I actually remembered to buy Kleenix...I would have bought out the entire store. The store should be happy I can never remember to buy kleenix.

Anywho. enough about my emotional roller coaster that i'm not talking about right now...and on to Friday Fill-ins!

1. sometimes, I just really want to be at home.

2. My favorite thing for dinner lately has been dinner? um....i think that sometimes i forget to make dinner...so i eat random items at home. maybe eating right would help the emotional roller coaster - make mental note to fix that.

3. a dog says: bark! bark! bark! (okay...so this one was rather lame-o. i mean really? blank bark! bark! bark!? what were you thinking??)

4. A nice long walk provides for the opportunity to have long conversations.

5. i could use some good news.

6. When all is said and done, everything will be right in the world

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to making muffins for my ballet girls and posters to tell them where to go, tomorrow my plans include 12-hours at M* High School for an all-day dress rehearsal :P and Sunday, I want to find some answers!

Seussical the Musical

So on Monday evening I went up to Orem to a junior high up there where one of my little junior ballet company girls was performing in their school musical. Their musical of choice? Seussical the Musical.

I had never seen this musical before, but oh my gosh. It was hilarious!!! I laughed so much!
My ballet student did a fabulous job as a bird girl, but some of my favorite parts included:

  • the drama teacher going off on her personal rants about play etiquette in a VERY junior high teacher voice at the beginning of the play. me and my two other ballet students had so much fun making fun of her.
  • the giraffe. definitely should win the award for best costume EVER
  • seeing said ballet student after the play. She had NO idea we were coming, so the surprise on her face was so cute!!
After the musical my other two ballet students (President and Vice-President of the Ballet company I teach) and I went to Macey's for an ice cream cone. Oh the fun we had! My favorite part???

"But a very cute moose. Make all the boy moose go 'WHAAAAA.' " HA HA HA HA HA...oh man. (name the movie!!)
