Friday Things

Hey dear friends! Are you melting yet? It's definitely summertime around these parts with temperatures extremely hot. I'm not going to lie, I've been looking forward to some hot weather lately. I'm excited to spend time out in the sun doing fun summer-like things.

with that note, let's get this party started!

  • For the first time in my life I am going to The Mormon Miracle Pageant down in Manti. I'm really kind of excited, even if it's cheesy. :o)
  • As part of this excitement, Soldier Boy and I are going to go camping! woo hoo! I love camping and I'm excited to do it with the someone that I love.
  • Soldier Boy's daughter is coming too! I always look forward to spending time with her. It should be good times.
  • Dancing last night was lots of fun times. I love dancing with my boyfriend. He's an amazing dancer and it's always a wonderful time to be dancing with him. :o)
  • One of my former Relief Society presidents is getting married tomorrow. I am so happy for her and am excited to go and wish her well.
  • Pandora and I have been really good friends as of late. I'm a fan of music. HUGE fan.
  • So....I'm moving right? I still don't know where yet, but I'm working on that. :P I hate looking for somewhere to live. It's so...crazy.
  • the show last weekend went well. It wasn't without it's dramatic moments, but it went well. My girls performed admirably and I was so proud of them. They looked amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better group of girls to end my year on. I'll miss them, but I look forward to the new opportunities that await me in the future.
  • My room is a disaster. Because I'm moving sometime in the next 6 weeks...I really don't want to clean it. I should just start putting things into boxes....hmmmm......
  • work has been fairly crazy this past week. :P I might be starting to go crazy...
I think that's about it my friends. Life is great now that it is officially summer time. Now to just find somewhere to live.... catch ya on the flip side!

Thursday Things

hi guys. :o)

  • I bought a new swimsuit last weekend. I love it. It's the "sexiest" swimsuit I own...and Soldier Boy loves it. No surprises there.
  • This weekend is show weekend. It's also my LAST show weekend. It's not really bittersweet for me...in fact, I'm really excited and have been counting down for weeks now.
  • Since normal classes are no longer happening (YAY for them being done!) I get to spend time with Solider Boy and his daughter on his one night a week with her! That happens tonight, and I'm excited to spend more time with the both of them.
  • In talking to Soldier Boy the other day, I found out that due to some interesting circumstances that nothing special is happening on Father's Day for him. I am not okay with this. I told him that I'm coming and making him and his daughter dinner.
  • This is extra nice because the gift I'm planning on giving him (a variation on this tutorial - I'm adding a picture of Soldier Boy w/his daughter) can be given to him BY his daughter....even if she only helped a little bit. (let me tracer her hands a couple of weeks ago...)
  •  let's see what else is happening...oh! dancing tonight. I'm going for a bit, and I'm excited. like always. :o)
  • tomorrow is my day off and I have a little bit of pampering happening, a lunch date and then a to-do list that seems like it's a mile long....
  • I've started looking for somewhere to move, but there are still a few variables to figure out with that and so I haven't really put forth a TON
i think that's about it.  Have a great weekend all y'all!

Tender Mercy Tuesday: 60th Edition

Hello dearest internet friends.

I know some of you probably remember my post from last week. Today I want to explain some of the statements - because now I can.

from last week's post:
I need... to stay calm
I hate... having to keep secrets from certain people in my life. But some people can't know what's going on yet.
I hurt... knowing that I'm going to break some people's hearts this week.
I hope... that everyone can be understanding when certain things come to light...
These four statements brought some concern from some of my friends. I know this, because they reached out to me about it. I am SO GRATEFUL to have so many great people in my life that are concerned for my well-being when I post passive-aggressively. :o)

rest assured that everything is okay. I announced on Saturday that this year is my last year at AofB - the studio I trained at and have been teaching at for years. This studio gave me my first teaching job and my first opportunity to work with a company - BU2. I have loved teaching and I have loved my girls. However, do to certain circumstances both in my personal life and with things that have happened the past couple of years at the studio I have come to terms that it is time for me to move on. I won't be teaching at AofB next year, and while it's hard - it is the BEST thing for me hands down.

Now for my Tender Mercy Tuesday thought that directly relates to the things above. A whole lot of dramatic crap happened yesterday at dress rehearsal. So much so that I was extremely frustrated with certain people (still am actually) and very emotional that by the time I got to Soldier Boy's place I had been crying for a good 15 minutes. This is where my tender mercy comes in - I have been blessed with a man who is so extremely understanding. Soldier Boy held me while I cried and then helped me take out my frustrations on a soda pop can with a revolver. (granted, we had planned on going shooting before all this went down, but still) I am so glad that I have been given someone who understands what I am going through and stands up for me and my feelings. Seriously, my boyfriend is a rockstar.

And that my friends, is all. I hope your Tuesday evening is fantastic, as for me and my evening - I get to spend it with my boyfriend - halleluiah.

sometimes....

sometimes life is really busy. Now is one of those times. I'm sorry. I wish I wasn't so busy sometimes and I could post really cool things, but then I don't really have cool things to post right now. My dating life revolves around my sweet, adorkable boyfriend Soldier Boy. I'm kind of head over heels for this guy and I'm okay with that.

The good news is that it's Thursday and that can only mean one thing.....

  • my weekend up north was SUPER fantastic!!! I loved every minute of it and had the time of my life.
  • Soldier Boy's daughter (who really needs a 'nym....hmmm...) is ADORABLE and she loves me. which is good because....
  • I get to spend all day with her tomorrow! due to some interesting circumstances that I don't quite understand, I'm babysitting. :o)
  • I'm really, really excited about this. My original plan for my day off included lunch w/Soldier Boy, so that's still happening - there will just be an extra person with us. ;)
  • 2 more weeks of dance classes....yes, I AM counting down. I'm rather excited for the end of the year.
  • I'm getting really excited about my summer this year. Soldier Boy and I have tentative plans for a good chunk of June and I'm rather stoked about this.
  • Work was insanely busy all week long. Gah!!
  • My brain is fried.
  • But I get to go dancing tonight, so it's all good.

That's all guys. Life is good. I'm good. Give me a couple weeks and then things will be even better. Maybe I'll actually blog about my summer adventures.... :o)

Have a great weekend!!

M.I.A.

So....I've been missing in action the past week or so. For this, I apologize. Being sick really threw me for a loop. After spending all day Saturday in Ogden I had to play catch up at home with my chores/other responsibilities. I have a lot on my plate right now and I'm getting really close to the end of my rope. Here's hoping things calm down before I blow a gasket or something along those lines.

I have so many random things to tell you that I think we'll do a little  Friday Things! :o) Enjoy!

  • I keep trying to participate in the photo-a-day meme on Instagram, but I have failed miserably for the past three months. Maybe when life isn't trying to kill me....
  • The year-end show for my company is in 3 short weeks. I'm excited to get things said and done for this year, I'm beyond burnt out with teaching and I am very much looking forward to not teaching this summer.
  • The next two weeks should be pretty awesome. I have a three-day weekend (yay for Memorial Day! Paid Holiday! WOO HOO!!) then a three-day work week followed by another three-day weekend (yay day off!) so the next week or so should be GRAND.
  • I get to spend all this weekend up in L* I'm rather stoked to spend the entire weekend chillaxin' with Soldier Boy + daughter.
  • I got a new phone last weekend! Nothing super fancy - I'm still in the world of non-smart phones. But he's pretty cute and I'm a fan.
  • Yesterday was just awful. I had a horrid dentist call me at work and yell at me. It was not fun times.
  • Oh! I'm trying to find a cute craft to do for Soldier Boy for Father's Day. He's the best dad ever and I want him to know that. If you have ideas, please share! Pinterest only takes me so far....
  • Pandora and I have  been really good friends as of late. I've got a shuffle of the 80s pop station, Today's Hits and Contemporary Country playing and oh man, oh man. GOOD STUFF y'all! I'm in love.
  • My visiting teachers visited me earlier this week. I love visiting teaching. It always manages to lift my spirits.
  • Today is a ridiculously busy day as I get ready for my long weekend not in O-town. It's okay, I can deal.
  • I feel like I'm forgetting to tell you something. :P oh well....
HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYONE!! :o) Party Hard!

half way

hey there. it's been a long week so far, and it's only Wednesday.

Yesterday was rough. I'm sorry I didn't get to a tender mercies post - I haven't done one in a while and I think I need to remember to take time to pause and reflect on the blessings I have been given as of late. So hopefully you'll see something next Tuesday. :o)

Last night my classes were missing over half the students. In both of them. With only seven weeks until the show and the year-end dances no where near being done...I'm starting to get a little stressed out. gah. That's the one thing about teaching advanced classes - the girls are all older and in high school and trying to do everything under the sun because they CAN and because they want to have the best possible resumes to get into colleges. bah. This is when I am grateful my mom made me choose just ONE thing to focus on. :o) Hopefully I have all the girls in class in the coming weeks. :P

I bought some bright pink sparkly TOM knockoffs....they are uber adorable. :o)

I get to go spend the evening with Soldier Boy tonight. I always look forward to my evenings with him - they rock my world. :o)

My coworker and I are sitting on exercise balls at work today. :o) It's fun. For now. Hopefully this bodes well for my figure. ;)

Finally, I'm going to go see my orthopedic surgeoun tomorrow. Remember him? He gave me bad news....he gave me good news. I'm hoping for good news tomorrow. See...my knee has been doing this weird popping thing as of late.

craziness

Hi guys. So....I started a post on Friday, but then I didn't ever get around to finishing it and posting it. Then I stayed away from the internets (for the most part) this weekend. See...it was show weekend. That meant I spent all afternoon/evening Friday and Saturday at the Covey Center for the Arts. It was fun and exhausting all in one. Also - I realize I didn't finish the 10-day challenge. My life blew up with the show (some crazy stuff hit the fan late Thursday) and I really couldn't think of something to do PLUS the one thing I did think of possibly doing, I couldn't do because I wasn't allowed to wear jeans to work on Friday due to the board of directors meeting that happened. Oh well. C'est la vie.

The silver lining though to this weekend was that Solider Boy stuck around on Friday. We went to lunch together and then he came and suppported me and my ballet company at the performance that night. It was SO NICE to have him with me. We followed up the show with dinner w/a good friend of mine and then went back to my place to talk and just chill. He ended up staying another (unplanned, but still good) night in UT county and we got to spend a bit of time together Saturday morning before he left on his week long trip to California. sigh. I miss him.

Also, I've realized that I haven't really blogged about a lot of what happened last weekend (the 28/29 of January) or what not...and I'm pretty sure I don't want to go into all of the details about it all. It's a VERY long story and pretty personal, but the jist of it is this: we're not really dating right now and we're going to be that way for a little while. It's a complicated mess, but Solider Boy is my future boyfriend. One of my friends described it as us being "engaged to be in a relationship." We don't have a timeline for when we will be officially dating, but in the meantime we are good friends strengthening our friendship. We hang out and talk to each other because we both need that support. I honestly really like where we are in our relationship and I'm so grateful for this time to learn more about him and grow closer together without all the other emotional/physical aspects of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship getting in the way. We both really like each other and we're excited to see where things go, when they can go. So...Soldier Boy isn't disappearing completely, I just don't get to kiss him or hold his hand right now. :'(

Anywho...there's the reader's digest version of where things are for us right now. :o) Have a great Monday y'all!

Tender Mercy Tuesday - 35th Edition

I have been thinking a lot the past few days on what I wanted to post about for my Tender Mercy Tuesday today. I was struggling with finding something to share that would be appropriate, but nothing was coming to mind. Then yesterday happened. Friday was a really awful day at work and I was not looking forward to coming into work yesterday. However, I knew that we should be fully staffed and that would make a huge difference from Friday where I was the only customer service specialist in the office. Well...my one coworker called in sick. So we were only partially staffed yesterday. It ended up being an okay day - and I attribute it to the fact that I was able to find the good in things as the day went on. This isn't always the easiest thing in the world to do, but finding the good in life has always been a talent of mine and I was glad I was able to put it to good use yesterday. blessings. :o)

In other news: I bought new running shoes last night. They are hot pink and full of awesome. See?

I think they made me run better last night than I would have otherwise. :o) After a 2-month hiatus from the gym, I got my butt on the treadmill and pounded out Day 1 of Week 4 of the Couch 2 5k program. With my warm up/cool down this is what the treadmill said I did:

I feel pretty good about that. I'm a little sore this morning, but as I saw my pink shoes on the floor of my bedroom, a part of me wanted to go running again today! Even though today is not a running day. :o) I think the pink shoes are going to be good for me! huzzah!

Finally, today is Day Nine of the 21 Day Challenge. I took a HUGE risk today and I'm pretty sure I look like some sort of vegetable today, but I wanted to push the envelope on Monochrome outfit day. So...without further ado, my outfit:
{skirt: made for my sister's wedding by my mom, jacket: BYU bookstore, shirt: DownEast bracelet: Gardner Village. not pictured: headband sash made to match skirt and earrings: green discs from claire's}
I'm pretty sure I look like a green bean, or lettuce or something. I am not sure I'd ever wear a monochrome outfit like this again...but who knows. maybe? I'm just not sure how I feel about it. I can wear mostly black, mostly brown all the time, but any other color and it makes me nervous. sigh. Anyways. There's Day 9!

It's Tuesday, and that means first day of ballet classes! woo hoo! Here's hoping you all have a great second day of the week! ciao!

hello monday!

Hello friends! This week is full of new and exciting things and as much as I LOVE my weekends, I was really excited to get through it so I could attack this week with vigor. :o)

Things that I am doing this week:
  • continuing to work on the 21 day challenge. This week's prompts look like a lot fun while still being challenging for me. Watch for my outfits each day!
  • While ballet classes for my studio officially started on Thursday, I was out performing at BYU Education week, so I had a sub. My first official classes of the year are tomorrow and I'm stoked for the new year! I'm teaching a new class this year and I am just so excited!
  • I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday. I have never looked forward to a Wednesday so much in my life! My hair is driving me bonkers and I am excited to feel cute again.
  • I don't work on Friday. I'm not sure all what I'm going to do that day, but I'm just excited to not have to work.
  • I am going to Blue Tango on Thursday! I haven't been to Blue Tango in way too long due to the musical and I am so excited to see my friends again and dance the night away with them.
  • I am going shopping with Sister B! I love shopping and my sister. So going shopping with her is a pretty awesome thing to have happen!
  • I am getting back into my exercise regimen starting TODAY. I am going to do the couch 2 5k program again, but I'm starting on week 4. I've already scheduled the time in my calendar for when I'm going to the gym so there WILL be NO excuses. :o)
Doesn't that sound like an exciting week? I sure think so!! And now, the moment you've all been waiting for......Day 8 of the 21 Day Challenge! Mixing fancy with casual...I struggled trying to pick out an outfit - especially one that  I could be comfortable in all day at work. I almost went with a different top with jeans, but then I settled on this outfit:
{top w/belt: Papaya, jeans: DEB}
I LOVE this top. I feel so super cute in it and it's the first official outfit that I belted - mostly because it came with the belt. This top feels fancy to me and I always wear it with slacks or a black pencil skirt - but I totally dig it with jeans. One day I'm going to try mixing the fancy and casual with jeans and my Japanese top that I made....but not today. :o)

and.....that's all folks! Nothin' much is happenin' these days. Grizzly Bear and I are still friends....I think he still likes me, but he needs to ask me out on a date in order for me to want to be with him more. And really....that's about it. :o) until tomorrow dear ones!!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Hello Monday

Well....we had what I am calling "Closing Night Part One" on Saturday night. It was a crazy night with a microburst storm attacking us about 20 minutes into the show. Luckily for us this microburst was just wind and no rain and the show went on! Huzzah!

Yesterday was an emotional day for me. I was exhausted physically and there was a lot on my mind so I quickly got exhausted emotionally. When I went to bed last night shortly after 10:30pm I was a mess. Luckily, I read this amazing talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "Because of Your Faith ." This talk was exactly what I needed to hear last night. I slept like a rock (I guess there was a crazy rain storm early this morning - I didn't hear a thing!) Today should be a good day, albeit insanely busy.

In other news, today is Day One of the 21 Day Challenge. This week's prompts were posted on Saturday and yesterday the first in depth post for day one was posted. Today's challenge is to pick an item of clothing to Remix during this challenge. I love the idea of remixing and already have plans to do my own remixing challenge once I've finished this 21 day challenge. My item of clothing that I picked to remix: a sheer white shirt. I bought this shirt originally for Sister B's wedding but then decided I hated it (well, at least for her wedding). I want to wear it more so it's my remix item. Today I'm wearing it paired with my favorite pair of jeans, a green DownEast cap sleeved shirt and a pair of  flats that are flowery.

(shoes not pictured)
This is how I normally wear this shirt....so here's hoping I can figure out a few different ways to wear it in the next three weeks!! :o)

In other news it's the audition for my ballet company today - I can't believe summer vacation is basically over. Classes start this week. I'm excited for the new year, but wishing I had about 3 more weeks of no ballet classes and no musical....oh well! The musical has definitely been fun times and I am SO glad that I got to participate in it. Although at this point, I'm not going to lie, I'm excited for it to be over. We're at BYU's Education Week and I believe there are still a few tickets available if you haven't gotten the opportunity to see me perform yet. :o)

I think that's all folks. At least for now. :o) I am so scatter-brained that I'm sure I'm forgetting something....but that's how I feel about 90% of the time these days. :P Have a great Monday!

Monday, August 01, 2011

THREE DAYS.....

The show opens in THREE DAYS people. This is insane. I can't believe that it's coming up so soon!

We had our first dress rehearsal on Saturday and it was a pretty good run through - it felt SO GOOD to have REAL sound through our speakers and to have microphones on the leads and such. SO GOOD. I hope things only get better from here. We have dress rehearsals every night leading up to the opening night on Thursday.

In other news, Grizzly Bear texted me for the first time in like, 2  weeks. It totally caught me off guard. It wasn't a huge issue - because I couldn't do anything with the musical and stuff. I don't want to date him, but I want to stay friends. At some point I'll probably have to talk with him, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Right now, my focus is on my church calling and the musical. Also, ballet classes start up again in 2 weeks (yup, same week as the last week of AIDA. great timing, right?) and I'm excited to start a new year with a new ballet company.

I might be MIA a tad the next few weeks. Work is crazy, the musical will most definitely take over my life with how late rehearsals will go and what not and I just don't know how much I'll post. Don't miss me too much! :o)

woah. information overload?

Are you ready for an INFORMATION OVERLOAD? good. because there is a TON of stuff that I have to tell you.

First off - THE WEDDING.

It was SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I loved every minute of the day of her wedding. And really, the days leading up to her wedding weren't that stressful, so that was good. Seeing my family was so fabulous. I love my family. I loved having them here in Utah. It was great times. I still can't believe my sister is married, but it is very happy so I'm okay with that.

NEXT: the show.

It was chaos. Like always. My students did fabulous, but the back stage managing was all over the place and insanely crazy busy. I was on my feet basically all day - until I took over calling the show at one point. Seriously, the day was VERY long and I almost died. But then I didn't.

Another THING:

Remember how I was auditioning for AIDA? Well...The audition went fairly well. I know that I wasn't the best singer, but man alive I danced my heart out. My good friend auditioned too which was excited! Well...I got an email an I MADE THE ENSEMBLE!!! I am SUPER DUPER excited about it all. In fact, I have my first rehearsal in just a short while. (Also, my friend who auditioned? She made it too!!!)

A BOY thing -

So....Grizzly Bear is still kind of in the same place.  He texts me...but we've been on like one date. sigh. some boys.

PERCY on the other hand....he is INCREDIBLE.  He called me on Sunday, but we got interrupted by my sister and her husband. I called him back, but he didn't answer. He texted me Monday morning to apologize and see if I was available for lunch - which I totally was! However, I realized that i was wearing the SAME outfit I had worn on our first date! I totally came home and changed (just don't tell him that...). We went out to eat at my favorite Thai restaurant right across the street from where I work. We had the most pleasant time.  Also, we set aside time for our THIRD date. I am excited for our third date. The last time I had one of those well...we all remember the Fryman situation.. Anyways, we communicated via text message late Monday evening and it was suggested that we'll go Canoeing and on a picnic. I am rather STOKED by is suggestion, we'll see if that's what we really do or not. Regardless I really like Percy and I'm very excited to spend more time with him.

BASICALLY, this "summer" (aka the tie when I don't teach ballet) seems to be going EXTREMELY well and it just might be one of my favorite summers yet. I'm not counting any chicks yet, but I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

Hopefully none of your brains fried with all that info. I hope I didn't forget anything. Any Questions??  ;)

Friday, June 17, 2011

and just when i thought i could take a break.....

first off, i'm sure you are all waiting with baited breath on an update on the wedding. well. you're going to have to wait. my weekend is just as crazy as the past 5 days have been and i barely have time to breathe, let a lone blog. :P I promise to update you. For now, know that it was a BEAUTIFUL ceremony, a WONDERFUL reception, and overall a glorious time.

second off, I'm still running around with my head cut off. I auditioned tonight for Aida - I'm not sure they loved my voice, but they saw all my dance experience and told me to definitely be at the dance audition tomorrow morning. I figure this - even if I don't get a singing role, now they know my face so I'm one step ahead all of the other dancers that they have never seen before. Here's hoping I really can dance!! ha ha ha hah.

third off, immediately from the audition tomorrow morning I'm off to spend the ENTIRE day at the Covey Center. Yay for four ballet shows in one day!! yeah right. My poor girls have to be there at 9 am - the same time as my audition. Luckily I have a co-director that can be there at the beginning and I'll get there later. joys.

Finally just so you know....Grizzly Bear and I are still friends and flirting, but I had to tell him that we had to not kiss anymore while I figure out my emotions. He said he's okay with this. I hope he really is.....in the meantime I can't stop thinking about Percy. Percy texted me Monday. I haven't heard from him since, but he's supposed to call me on Sunday. I am VERY excited about that phone call. I just have to get through tomorrow + my solo in church on Sunday. Here goes...hopefully I'm still alive by Monday!!!

First of June

Can you believe that it is already the first of June? I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it! Since SO MANY things are happening in the month of June and I feel like I haven't given you a really good, meaty boy update, this post is going to be a hodgepodge of everything awesome that has happened, will happen and should happen in the next short while.

HERE WE GO!

First! Some countdowns!
  • There are 15 days until Sister B's wedding. I finished the centerpieces this weekend. Shoes have been procured. All that's left is to find a cuter white shirt, finish the guest book and finalize/purchase food for the reception. I can't believe the wedding is here.
  • There are 17 days until the end-year recital: Sleeping Beauty by AofB. I am so excited for my students to perform! They have been working SO HARD and they look so extremely polished. Makes my heart happy and proud.
  • In 12 days my family will be here! The whole family hasn't been in Utah since they moved to Virginia. I'm excited to have them be here, even if it's just for a short little while.
  • In one week I'm getting my hairs did. Have to look all cutes and stuff for the wedding. ha!
  • In 18 days I'm singing a solo in church. I'm just a tad bit nervous about it. I practiced w/the choir for the first time on Sunday and it was a little scary. Here's hoping I don't croak or something.
  • I only have 7 work days until I start my week long "vacation." (Is it really going to be a vacation? Probably not.)
Second! Some updates on boys!
  • Leviticus: We are still friends! We ended up at a mutual friend's BBQ on Monday and it was fun to see him and chat and such. We haven't been out in a few weeks, but he's so nice and helpful and such. A great friend truly.
  • The Australian: After him telling me we couldn't "date" right now and just with life and what not he and I hadn't hung out in a long time. We decided to hang out this past weekend - and it sort of was like a date. He took me to P.F. Chang's and convinced me to try shrimp. It was a weird texture, but pretty good otherwise. Anywho, after that we watched Willow on my couch and enjoyed cuddling. That boy sure knows how to cuddle. I'm not sure if this means anything. Knowing him it doesn't. Pretty much I'm just enjoying him and our friendship. :-)
  • Percy: He's the boy I mentioned here as a new "interest." After playing 2 rounds of phone tag we finally connected on the phone on Monday afternoon. He talks just as cute as he writes. He seems very genuine and that makes me happy.  We're going out to lunch on Friday (which is perfect since it's my day off!) and I'm rather stoked to see him in person. Now I just need to decide what to wear....
  • Grizzly Bear: So named because we clicked while at FHE last week at the Bean Museum while next to the bears. Ha! Also, he reminds me of a teddy bear. :o) Grizzly Bear and I texted most of the weekend, I said hi to him at church and have basically been my flirty, cute self. We watched Gnomeo & Juliet last night and snuggled on his couch. He walked me to my car, kissed me on the cheek and sent me on my way. He's already determined that we should hang out again and I agreed. No plans yet, but it will be fun regardless I'm sure. :-)
Third! A cute little something that I am liking this sunny, Wednesday afternoon. Loves!

Thursday Things and such

*yawn* Hi friends. I am a little on the sleepy side. That seems to be the story of my life these days. I keep attempting to get myself to go to bed early...but alas, it just doesn't seem to happen like ever. Oh well. I must be living life right? or maybe I'm just crazy. ;)

Let's see what awesome things are on my brain today shall we?

  • I am so glad that it is a holiday weekend. I am very much looking forward to sleeping in on Monday. :o)
  • Also, because of my awesome work schedule I have a 3-day weekend, a 3-day work week, followed by another 3-day weekend. What follows then is a 5-day work week and then a whole week off (my "vacation") for my sister's wedding/the end-year show. I can't believe it's coming up that fast. Gah.
  • I feel like I have 500 things to do. I really don't have that much to do, but it feels like I do. le sigh.
  • My iPod touch came in the mail this week! It is so fancy and shiny. I am in love with it.
Doesn't it look shiny? sigh. I think it is going to make my life way easier. We shall see!
  •  Also! I bought shoes for my the wedding. Finally. It only took me ages to find something I liked and that went with the outfits we are wearing. :o)
see?! aren't they super cute? I'm rather excited to wear them and stuff.
  • Sister B has her bridal session tomorrow. It should be fun times! I'm rather excited to see how they turn out and what not.
  • I am not happy that it is supposed to rain this weekend. I just want sunshine and happiness! Is that too much to ask?
  • I'm singing a solo in church here in a few weeks. EEK! It's part of a choral number...but still. Me. A Solo. :P
  • I am making new friends in my ward. I love friends. People to do things with! Hurrah!
Basically...that's my life. The end-year recital + the wedding are slowly taking over - but everything will be said and done in 3 weeks + 2 days. I'm not sure what I'll do with myself at that point - but I'll probably play!! A lot!! :o)

Have a great Thursday friends!

Dating Battle Stories: Blindman

{artwork by Roommate A}
First off, I have to apologize. I started writing this and then stopped. Don't ask why it took me so long but I figured all y'all deserved to find out how my first "first date" in a long time went down. Roommate A set me up with her boyfriend's roommate - Blindman. I had never met this boy before Friday the 14th. (I did Facebook stalk him, but that's about it) He seemed cool (based off of the stalking) and Roommate A and her boyfriend vouched for his coolness... so I agreed to a blind date.  Our date consisted of the boys picking us up, driving to Nickel City and playing games for several hours and then going back to my/Roommate A's apartment for pizza and The A Team. Then I went to bed and everybody else hung out.

You know what? Blind dates are awkward. I sort of forgot that fact in all my years of dating the same person. You don't know how that person acts in social situations, you don't know what they like, or ANYTHING. It makes it so hard to figure out what to say and what to do at any given moment during the date. So, my overall feeling? Awkward. I've heard through the grapevine that he thinks I'm a cool person but whether or not he'll ever ask me out again is yet to be seen. I think I would go out with him again if only because I don't think anyone should be judged on relationship compatibility from a blind date alone. Unless the person is a creeper or you feel super uncomfortable all night or something. (which I didn't. It was just awkward. Normal awkward - if there is such a thing)

So there you go. Nothing else has really happened in my dating world since then. I've been busy hanging out with groups of friends and getting ready for the show in FIVE DAYS. (get your tickets now!) I keep hoping for something to go down with Sweetums...but we keep missing each other. Our schedules have been polar opposites all month long and that has made me oh so sad. I do have something up my sleeve in a couple of weeks...we'll see how that pans out. :o)

In other news I woke up this morning thinking it was FRIDAY when in fact it is only WEDNESDAY. I'm not a fan of this. :P

Bravery

Sometimes I pretend to be brave and sometimes I am ACTUALLY brave.

Saturday I pretended to be brave, but yesterday - yesterday I was actually brave.

Yesterday after my church meetings and after choir I introduced myself to a new guy in the ward. I talked to him for a long time and I feel like we clicked just a little bit. I felt so good about myself for getting my flirt on and what not. GO ME!

Also, I was brave yesterday because I initiated an online conversation with SwingKid. This is the first time that we've had a real-time conversation in eight weeks and it was good. I held my breath a couple of times, but overall it was good.

I am excited for today - if only because the countdown to the show begins. :o) The next 10 days are going to be busy. I have a laundry date with my sister, a temple trip to make, friends to see, dentist appointments to make,  a couple hours of rehearsal (we still have to finish our piece! EEK!), a Winter-een-mas party, a Saturday FULL of rehearsals and then a show to present. It is going to be a full week and I am excited for it.

Thursday Things

Thank goodness it is finally Thursday. Even though I have to work tomorrow, I tend to love Thursdays. This week has been long and HARD. Yesterday was a good day and today should prove to be an even better day. I have a yummy pizza lunch to look forward to, teaching ballet, and rehearsal. Oh how I love rehearsal. Let's go over some things shall we?

  • The show I am performing in is in 11 days. EEK!!! SCARY!! Do you have your tickets yet?
  • My hair is getting SO long and I love it. A lot.
  • And yet there is still a part of me that would love to whack it off. I love a drastic change.
  • It has been slightly warmer round these parts lately - enough so that it has melted all the ice that was causing me  grief. I really want spring/summer to be here NOW.
  • I have pink fingernails. They make me smile.
  • I need to make a dentist appointment. I hate the dentist. Seriously - I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. Do you have a good dentist in Utah county you love?
  • I'm working on some fun things to happen in the month of March. I'm quite excited about them.
  • This year January seems to be going by faster than it has in years past, I am very much okay with that.
  • I really like the image below. Makes my heart happy. Have a great day y'all!!

Pointe Counterpointe

Alrighty guys. Two weeks from today I am making my (big) comeback!! I am performing in Academy of Ballet's gala show - Pointe Counterpionte.

This performance is on January 31st and February 1st at 7pm. Yes, I know it is a Monday/Tuesday which is a little odd...but it doesn't mean you can't come! Dates can be ANY night of the week! Or better still, bring your FHE group/family. :o)

Anyways. Details. You can purchase tickets through the Covey Center's website, go to their office, or give them a holler on the telephone. Tickets are $8 for the balcony and $10 for the Mezzanine/Floor. If you are a student/senior, you get $2 off.

Now, you might be asking why you should come to this performance in downtown cougartown at the end of the month.  Let me give you 5 REALLY good reasons.
  1. You get to see me perform on stage for the first time in 2+ years. The piece I am in is amazing. It's a director's piece and we've been working so hard on it. So come.
  2. You get to see my amazing contemporary piece. This piece is really cool. Seriously, it's one of the coolest things I have ever choreographed. It was hard for me to choreograph and VERY much outside of my box - but it's turned out so cool!
  3. It is not ALL ballet! In fact there are quite a few contemporary, modern, and jazz pieces in the show!
  4. You also get to see my take on the classic Waltz of the Flowers dance. Shorter than the original, this piece is just aesthetically pleasing.
  5. Did I mention you get to see me dance? I am really excited about this and I would love to have a TON of friends come and support me. Especially seeing how my family lives so far away these days.
So there you go. 5 pretty darn good reasons why you should plan on attending Pointe Counterpointe this year. I hope you come! :o)

don't mind me...

I'm just trying to get through the work day! I am SO SO SO excited about my weekend plans! They all start at about 6 pm tonight...and the fun will just continue on through most of Saturday. :o)

anywho...It's thursday! So that means....
  1. It is my 3-day weekend. This makes my heart super happy. I have a bazillion things going on and that also makes me happy.
  2. Today I get to go to my BEST friend's wedding. Also on the docket for today is rehearsal (2.5 weeks to show guys! EEK!) and Blue Tango dancing.
  3. Tomorrow has many things going on including going to the Temple with sister B, taking a ballet class, cleaning my house, and going on a blind date.
  4. I haven't been on a blind date since CPM. I'm a little nervous.
  5. Pair my busy schedule with Sweetums' busy schedule and you get chaos. We've talked and tried to get together this week to no avail. Makes me sad. Hopefully next week will treat us both a little bit better.
  6. I haven't logged into Facebook while at work since January 1. I am awesome. It has been hard, but SO GOOD for me.
  7. My CTR ring is not fitting my finger very well right now. It's a little on the big side. I think my fingers have lost weight.
  8. Is that possible? do fingers lose weight?
  9. The receptionist came back EARLY! I thought she was going to be gone until MONDAY.  Thank goodness. I hate covering for her.
  10. Finally, I'm still thinking about birthday party ideas. Right now I am leaning towards a Super Hero birthday party. What do you think?
Wow. My brain has a lot of thoughts right now! The funny thing is, that's only like...a small portion of them! :o) Anyways. I hope you all have a splendid Thursday, a wonderful weekend, and I'll be sure to keep you posted on how everything pans out! Happy Day!
