Tender Mercy Tuesday: 60th Edition

Hello dearest internet friends.

I know some of you probably remember my post from last week. Today I want to explain some of the statements - because now I can.

from last week's post:
I need... to stay calm
I hate... having to keep secrets from certain people in my life. But some people can't know what's going on yet.
I hurt... knowing that I'm going to break some people's hearts this week.
I hope... that everyone can be understanding when certain things come to light...
These four statements brought some concern from some of my friends. I know this, because they reached out to me about it. I am SO GRATEFUL to have so many great people in my life that are concerned for my well-being when I post passive-aggressively. :o)

rest assured that everything is okay. I announced on Saturday that this year is my last year at AofB - the studio I trained at and have been teaching at for years. This studio gave me my first teaching job and my first opportunity to work with a company - BU2. I have loved teaching and I have loved my girls. However, do to certain circumstances both in my personal life and with things that have happened the past couple of years at the studio I have come to terms that it is time for me to move on. I won't be teaching at AofB next year, and while it's hard - it is the BEST thing for me hands down.

Now for my Tender Mercy Tuesday thought that directly relates to the things above. A whole lot of dramatic crap happened yesterday at dress rehearsal. So much so that I was extremely frustrated with certain people (still am actually) and very emotional that by the time I got to Soldier Boy's place I had been crying for a good 15 minutes. This is where my tender mercy comes in - I have been blessed with a man who is so extremely understanding. Soldier Boy held me while I cried and then helped me take out my frustrations on a soda pop can with a revolver. (granted, we had planned on going shooting before all this went down, but still) I am so glad that I have been given someone who understands what I am going through and stands up for me and my feelings. Seriously, my boyfriend is a rockstar.

And that my friends, is all. I hope your Tuesday evening is fantastic, as for me and my evening - I get to spend it with my boyfriend - halleluiah.

M.I.A.

So....I've been missing in action the past week or so. For this, I apologize. Being sick really threw me for a loop. After spending all day Saturday in Ogden I had to play catch up at home with my chores/other responsibilities. I have a lot on my plate right now and I'm getting really close to the end of my rope. Here's hoping things calm down before I blow a gasket or something along those lines.

I have so many random things to tell you that I think we'll do a little  Friday Things! :o) Enjoy!

  • I keep trying to participate in the photo-a-day meme on Instagram, but I have failed miserably for the past three months. Maybe when life isn't trying to kill me....
  • The year-end show for my company is in 3 short weeks. I'm excited to get things said and done for this year, I'm beyond burnt out with teaching and I am very much looking forward to not teaching this summer.
  • The next two weeks should be pretty awesome. I have a three-day weekend (yay for Memorial Day! Paid Holiday! WOO HOO!!) then a three-day work week followed by another three-day weekend (yay day off!) so the next week or so should be GRAND.
  • I get to spend all this weekend up in L* I'm rather stoked to spend the entire weekend chillaxin' with Soldier Boy + daughter.
  • I got a new phone last weekend! Nothing super fancy - I'm still in the world of non-smart phones. But he's pretty cute and I'm a fan.
  • Yesterday was just awful. I had a horrid dentist call me at work and yell at me. It was not fun times.
  • Oh! I'm trying to find a cute craft to do for Soldier Boy for Father's Day. He's the best dad ever and I want him to know that. If you have ideas, please share! Pinterest only takes me so far....
  • Pandora and I have  been really good friends as of late. I've got a shuffle of the 80s pop station, Today's Hits and Contemporary Country playing and oh man, oh man. GOOD STUFF y'all! I'm in love.
  • My visiting teachers visited me earlier this week. I love visiting teaching. It always manages to lift my spirits.
  • Today is a ridiculously busy day as I get ready for my long weekend not in O-town. It's okay, I can deal.
  • I feel like I'm forgetting to tell you something. :P oh well....
HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYONE!! :o) Party Hard!

Thursday Things

  • I am tired. Also, my to-do list is ridonkulously long right now. Not a fan of that.
  • This week has been rough. Granted, the week after a vacation is usually that way, but with some of the emotional turmoil in my life it was extra hard.
  • I can't believe it's spring (and it actually feels like it!). This year is really going to fly by, I can feel it.
  • There are changes coming to my life this next year - some that I know exactly when they're going to happen and some when I have NO IDEA when they're going to happen. I am ready for change.
  • I know I'll be moving this summer. I'm not signing a year contract at my current residence. (as much as i love my place!) I don't know where I'm moving to yet....but I'm moving. I hate moving.
  • I need to do some serious spring cleaning. I'm hoping to get a jump start on that this weekend.
  • I can't help but remember the fun times from a year ago that happened this week. That was good times y'all, good times.
  • Four of my Ten company members are missing class and rehearsal tonight because of school related events. This drives me nuts. I'm thinking we're just going to watch a movie today in class. I hardly ever do that. If ever really. That will be fun, right? sigh. I can't wait until this dance year is done. I'm so burned out right now.
  • dancing tonight needs to happen. I need the release dancing brings. Especially when that dancing involves Solider Boy. He calms my heart.
  • just ate lunch with some coworkers. made my day. sat outside...got some Vitamin D....I need more sunshine. Good thing the weather is going to be so fantastic this weekend.
  • chocolate covered pomegranates are amazing.
  • i need a mani/pedi. i wonder if i have time to slip that in somewhere this weekend...
well. that's about it. I'm kind of all over the place today...I'm hoping I can get myself together and be really productive this weekend. :o) Have a great weekend everyone!

craziness

Hi guys. So....I started a post on Friday, but then I didn't ever get around to finishing it and posting it. Then I stayed away from the internets (for the most part) this weekend. See...it was show weekend. That meant I spent all afternoon/evening Friday and Saturday at the Covey Center for the Arts. It was fun and exhausting all in one. Also - I realize I didn't finish the 10-day challenge. My life blew up with the show (some crazy stuff hit the fan late Thursday) and I really couldn't think of something to do PLUS the one thing I did think of possibly doing, I couldn't do because I wasn't allowed to wear jeans to work on Friday due to the board of directors meeting that happened. Oh well. C'est la vie.

The silver lining though to this weekend was that Solider Boy stuck around on Friday. We went to lunch together and then he came and suppported me and my ballet company at the performance that night. It was SO NICE to have him with me. We followed up the show with dinner w/a good friend of mine and then went back to my place to talk and just chill. He ended up staying another (unplanned, but still good) night in UT county and we got to spend a bit of time together Saturday morning before he left on his week long trip to California. sigh. I miss him.

Also, I've realized that I haven't really blogged about a lot of what happened last weekend (the 28/29 of January) or what not...and I'm pretty sure I don't want to go into all of the details about it all. It's a VERY long story and pretty personal, but the jist of it is this: we're not really dating right now and we're going to be that way for a little while. It's a complicated mess, but Solider Boy is my future boyfriend. One of my friends described it as us being "engaged to be in a relationship." We don't have a timeline for when we will be officially dating, but in the meantime we are good friends strengthening our friendship. We hang out and talk to each other because we both need that support. I honestly really like where we are in our relationship and I'm so grateful for this time to learn more about him and grow closer together without all the other emotional/physical aspects of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship getting in the way. We both really like each other and we're excited to see where things go, when they can go. So...Soldier Boy isn't disappearing completely, I just don't get to kiss him or hold his hand right now. :'(

Anywho...there's the reader's digest version of where things are for us right now. :o) Have a great Monday y'all!

The Grandest Wish of all....

At 11:11 today (11/11/11) I will be driving to Spanish Fork whilst on my lunch break to take care of a stupid ticket from my car accident on Halloween. pooh. BUT it means that I probably won't miss this auspicious event. :o)

All morning long I've been thinking of what I should wish for because a wish made on such a day as this is bound to be pretty amazing AND I would think it has the highest chance of coming true. :o) So...what does one wish for on this great event?

I have no idea.

While I continue to ponder my wishes so I can make that great wish in just a matter of hours, I want to take this time to thank all of the veterans - including both of my grandfathers. They have done so much to help keep our country safe and I'm grateful for their sacrifice. The world would be a much scarier place right now without them.

And finally, a little jovial Friday Fill-ins for ya today. I hope this day brings you the most happiness possible. Loves!

1. Turkey is delicious. I love eating turkey - especially turkey sandwiches!

2. I love pumpkin pie. And plan on making plenty of it this year. :o)

3. On and on and on we go day in and day out.

4. The last time I saw my good former roommate Peximus Maximus was three years ago - until Wednesday afternoon! It was so fabulous to get to see and visit with her. She makes my heart happy.

5. Can you believe there are less than 2 weeks to Thanksgiving? This year is going to be over before we know it!

6. I need a personal assistant. There are too many things that I need to take care of that I just don't want to deal with right now.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to my dinner date with Monkey Man, tomorrow my plans include rehearsal and cleaning my house and the Ward Dinner + Talent Show and Sunday, I want to make something yummy!

Thursday Things

in order to keep myself sane I just had to post a Thursday Things. Yesterday was absolutely nuts at work. The one CS rep is still out of the office (down to 2 people running CS) and then the front desk receptionist person was out...and CS is responsible for covering the front desk...so there were two people covering 4 peoples worth of work. NUTSO. Seriously, I thought I was going to go crazy. :P

sigh. moving on....

  • I'm on the hunt for a date to go see Ballet West's Dracula next weekend. So...yeah. Need a date.
  • My contemporary piece for BU2 is going to be really cool. I'm rather excited about it. Now if only I could figure out more choreography for it....
  • I get to see all of my AIDA friends tomorrow night. I'm rather excited about this. I love them!
  • I think I'm going to dinner with Grizzly Bear on Saturday...perhaps....
  • Even though I'm uber exhausted, Blue Tango WILL happen tonight. I need the emotional release dancing gives me.
  • I love vegetables.
  • I got invited to a Halloween party yesterday. I can't remember the last time I was invited to a Halloween party. I'm rather excited. :o)
  • I'm wearing green today. I love green.
  • I have a lot going on on Sunday. It will be a busy, busy day.
  • I am having an In-n-Out burger for lunch today. I'm sort of excited about it.
That's it folks. Life is crazy. Does anyone want to be me for a day so I can just sleep for 24 hours straight? :o)

poof!

It was just like that - POOF! Suddenly, summer was gone and all the was left in it's wake was a horrible tan line that never went away and the wishes of more sunshine. This weekend was filled with loads of cold temperatures, cloudy skies, rainy (and a little snow!) days and lots of indoor adventures.

I'm sorry I sort of disappeared the end of last week. Thursday was just insanely busy and I never got around to posting and then I had Friday off, which ended up being so very busy and Saturday was much the same. I did finally choose and begin the contemporary piece for BU2 (thank goodness!) and now I get to start the process of finding music for my ballet class in Spanish Fork. I start that class in one week and I want to start choreography (or at least learn some sections of the choreography and teach them so the students aren't shocked by said choreography) in a month...and then I'll actually teach the dance w/formations to them in the beginning of the year. We are to do a dance on discouragement. Any music ideas you might have would be greatly appreciated.

I finally got my new computer at work. It is sooooo pretty. I have a HUGE monitor that I love, Windows 7 operating system that I'm still getting used to and Microsoft Office 10 that is making me think very hard. ;)

In other news I need to ask a boy to go see Ballet West's Dracula with me in less than 2 weeks. I have been thinking about asking Blindman2 OR I might ask this one guy in my ward. sigh. I just don't know who to take.

In other news, life is busy. Actually, that's not really news, especially if you know me in real life. I'm just always doing things. This week is no exception.

Anywho, this is a very boring, mundane post. I'll try to be funnier in the future, but I make no promises. ;)

WooHoo! It's FRIDAY!!!!

Guys. This week has been insanely long and uber busy. I am so glad it is almost the weekend! I need this weekend. I realized last night while I was dancing the night away at Blue Tango that I never did one of my favorite posts of the week: Thursday Things!! I love doing it and I am so sad I missed it. So today....we'll do FRIDAY THINGS!!! :o)

  • Dancing last night was EPIC!!!! The music was fantastic, I had some amazing dances, and overall it was the best time all week. :o) The end.
  • I have a story about Surfer Boy...see below.
  • Sometimes I feel like my life is just the same thing over and over again and then all of a sudden something happens and I'm reminded that each day is a gift.
  • Work was absolutely insane yesterday. sigh. I'm glad that I only have 7 more hours to go until the weekend!
  • We were supposed to be having company pictures tomorrow for my ballet company, but then....they got canceled due to the weather. (they were supposed to be outside)
  • The bad news with this is that I still can't sleep in because of picking up my bountiful basket. Had I known, I would have done a later pick up time. oh well. c'est la vie.
  • The good news is that I can now help my ward clean the church building that morning AND then have ALL day to do errands and chores.
  • My poor house needs a good cleaning. AND fall decorations.
  • FALL DECORATIONS! OH MY GOSH! I just realized I can put those up now! WOO HOO!!!!
  • I just love fall. I am actually kind of excited that it is cooler in the mornings these days.
  • BYU plays the Utes tomorrow. I'm sort of excited for this game. It should be fun, fun times.
  • My challenge this week has been going REALLY well. In fact, I think I'm going to try it for another week. I feel so much better about myself and my productivity this week.
Okay, now on to the part that you're all really here for: the story about Surfer Boy.

So, after my little freak out Wednesday afternoon and trying to decide what I should do...I went to the gym. (PS NOBODY [besides my friend quoted in said post] gave me any advice. What is up with that yo?!) So, I'm at the gym and Wednesday was a weight day - so I’m doing a circuit with dumbbells and such and I glance over to the other area - where all the machines are - and I see Surfer Boy. I kind gasped inside, but kept going. I finished my circuit and had one thing left - the rowing machine. I had just noticed Surfer Boy go into the men's changing room and so I thought to myself, "self, if you get on the rowing machine you'll probably miss him leaving and then you won't get to say hi and you'll really feel like a stalker." so instead I took a 2-minute break to stretch my arms and such and stood by a half wall that I was using to stretch. (And it was conveniently right by the way to get out of the gym)
Anyways. I’m watching out of the corner of my eye and he starts to walk by...but doesn't notice me....but I decide to "see him" and glance up, say his name, and start to take out my headphones and we chit chat for a moment. so, we’re talking and he mentions that "we're thinking of doing a movie night on Friday" (we being him and another guy in my ward that hosted the last movie night) he continued "I’ve been talking about it with so-and-so and we're just deciding on the where and such right now" I was jumping up in down on the inside! I was so excited!! Anyways...I told him that sounded good and that I’d be in. :o) then he left, I did the rowing machine and went home a happy, happy girl.

So there you go. I haven't heard an exact plan for movie night yet...but I have hopes. I just have to restrain myself from texting him to ask about it....unless I haven't heard anything at like 7p tonight. :o) Here's hoping it's going somewhere....eventually. he he he he.

My Favorite Kind of Thursday

  • Today is my favorite kind of Thursday: the kind where I don't have to work tomorrow. AKA it's my FRIDAY!!!!
  • HUZZAH!!!!
  • Can you tell I'm really excited about having the day off tomorrow?
  • I have a very long list of things to do in the next three days, but I'm so excited!
  • Not one of those things has anything to do with any boy....but I'm okay with that!
  • Are you ready?
  • I'm going to the temple, the gym, and Color Me Mine.
  • I also am going to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables, rehearse 2 ballet companies and watch BYU Football.
  • I'm going to clean my room, the bathroom and organize my kitchen.
  • I'm also going to do some dinner prep, make cookies, and eat something from a crockpot.
  • Tonight I'm going to teach ballet, go dancing, and flirt with cute boys.
  • I plan on sleeping in tomorrow morning, eating some good food, and enjoying some "me" time.
  • I REALLY hope I can get my to-do list done. I have high hopes and a time schedule for said list. Hopefully it works out a-okay. ;)
  • I went to the dentist yesterday. Hate the dentist. I have cavities. grrr. This means I have to go back. sigh. One of these days I'll actually make it through a 6-month check-up without having to go back again for another 6-months.
  • Yesterday was my half-birthday. Nothing of note happened.
  • I want cupcakes.
What are YOU doing this weekend?

It a new day, a new dawn....

and I'm feelin'.....good! Oh my. I just love Michael Buble. He makes my heart quiver with joy. He's the best. :o)

I am seriously feeling so good right now! Part of that is because I got my hair done last night and I just love it. I went a dark, chestnut brown with red highlights and new bangs and it just looks fantastic, if I do say so myself. Let's move on to some Thursday things shall we? I have plenty for ya!

  • Not only do I have new hair, but on Saturday I am going shopping with Sister B to get a few new items of clothing. Life will be good with new elements to my wardrobe. :o)
  • Speaking of wardrobe, I am LOVING the 21 Day Challenge! It has been SO fabulous for me and I'm discovering new ways to wear things that I already have in my closet. It is rocking my socks!
  • Speaking of the 21 Day Challenge, today is Day 11 and the challenge was to wear a dress or skirt. Easy enough! I love wearing skirts, especially during the summer. Keeps me cool. :o) Today I not only wore a skirt, but I went with remixing my item from Day 1. So without further ado, my outfit:
    {skirt: my roommate's from Gap, shirt: Kohls/DownEast, belt: Papaya}
I sort of love this...Tucking in this shirt does feel weird and I feel like it does funny things...sort of. Overall, I like it. I added a pop of color with my bright pink heels (which you can't see). I almost wore my pink belt that I have...but it just didn't flow right.
  • I love pencil skirts (which is what I'm wearing today.) They make my heart happy.
  • I don't work tomorrow. This makes me SUPER happy.
  • I am teaching my company for the first time tonight and I'm rather excited. It will be fun times for sure.
  • I've mentioned this a few times this week, but I just can't contain my excitement. I'm going dancing tonight!!! Oh yes! This just might be the highlight of my week!
  • I'm in love with Instagram. It is so fun to play with.
  • I went grocery shopping last night and then made taco meat. I froze some of it for future meals and then ate a taco salad. Yummy.
  • Work is insane. It's driving me crazy.
  • This week's running schedule is sort of crazy. I'm trying to decide what is going to work best. It's a little up in the air.
  • However, going running means I get to wear my awesome new, bright pink running shoes and that just gets me all excited.
  • I have tickets to a UVU Volleyball game tomorrow night. I want to go, but not by myself. I need to find a friend to go with me.
I think that's all for now. Pretty much, I am loving today - even if work is insane and driving me to be slightly cynical. :P Oh well...c'est la vie!

    Monday, August 15, 2011

    Hello Monday

Well....we had what I am calling "Closing Night Part One" on Saturday night. It was a crazy night with a microburst storm attacking us about 20 minutes into the show. Luckily for us this microburst was just wind and no rain and the show went on! Huzzah!

Yesterday was an emotional day for me. I was exhausted physically and there was a lot on my mind so I quickly got exhausted emotionally. When I went to bed last night shortly after 10:30pm I was a mess. Luckily, I read this amazing talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "Because of Your Faith ." This talk was exactly what I needed to hear last night. I slept like a rock (I guess there was a crazy rain storm early this morning - I didn't hear a thing!) Today should be a good day, albeit insanely busy.

In other news, today is Day One of the 21 Day Challenge. This week's prompts were posted on Saturday and yesterday the first in depth post for day one was posted. Today's challenge is to pick an item of clothing to Remix during this challenge. I love the idea of remixing and already have plans to do my own remixing challenge once I've finished this 21 day challenge. My item of clothing that I picked to remix: a sheer white shirt. I bought this shirt originally for Sister B's wedding but then decided I hated it (well, at least for her wedding). I want to wear it more so it's my remix item. Today I'm wearing it paired with my favorite pair of jeans, a green DownEast cap sleeved shirt and a pair of  flats that are flowery.

    (shoes not pictured)
This is how I normally wear this shirt....so here's hoping I can figure out a few different ways to wear it in the next three weeks!! :o)

In other news it's the audition for my ballet company today - I can't believe summer vacation is basically over. Classes start this week. I'm excited for the new year, but wishing I had about 3 more weeks of no ballet classes and no musical....oh well! The musical has definitely been fun times and I am SO glad that I got to participate in it. Although at this point, I'm not going to lie, I'm excited for it to be over. We're at BYU's Education Week and I believe there are still a few tickets available if you haven't gotten the opportunity to see me perform yet. :o)

I think that's all folks. At least for now. :o) I am so scatter-brained that I'm sure I'm forgetting something....but that's how I feel about 90% of the time these days. :P Have a great Monday!

    Thursday, August 11, 2011

    THURSDAY!!!!!

oh my goodness gracious. It is an insane Thursday around these parts. I just might go crazy by the end of the day. Don't believe me? Ask the dishes! (name that movie! ;) )

Anyways, there are some random things I want to make sure to mention, so let's get this week's edition of Thursday Things going!!

    • first off, Kayla from Freckles in April is sponsoring this 21 Day Challenge.  BASICALLY what is going down is Kayla is going to post outfit prompts and inspiration to help us all look more put together and such. I LOVE this idea. I browse Pinterest all the time and find great outfit ideas, but then I can never figure out how to make my own closet work for me. I'm hoping this 21 day challenge will help me out. ALSO she's been working with some AMAZING companies and will have several prizes for participants. So, you should get on the band wagon yo, or not and let me have more of a chance of wining! ;)
    •  Next up is a reminder that the next three days are our last performances of AIDA at the SCERA Shell. :o) This show is incredible and you definitely need to come and see it. Just a reminder, we will be performing at BYU Education next week, so if for some reason you've already got weekend plans...just come next week! woot!
    • Let's see....what else? Oh yeah! I have plans this weekend! I am so excited about said plans. I have a temple trip tomorrow with people from my ward, a lunch date, and then some of my FAVORITE people are coming to the show tomorrow night and we're going out afterwards. I am really excited about that!
    • I didn't have a show last night, but that didn't mean I wasn't busy! I did, however, get to bed earlier than what has been "normal" and I loved getting an extra hour or so of sleep.
    • Auditions for my ballet company are on Monday and I'm really excited to see the talent that will be coming into my company for this next year. :o) Huzzah!
    • What else is happening that I wanted to tell you about..................oh yeah! I've been thinking really hard about hair ideas for my next appointment. I've loved my hair for the past little while but I'm just....bored with it. So I think I'm going to go for something like these pictures:
I like the color for the one on the left, and the cut for the one on the right. thoughts?
    •  Today it was a person's birthday at work and his family brought him an awesome birthday package that included pop rocks for him to share with the company. I haven't had pop rocks in AGES. They are SO FUN!!!
I think that's all for now....Have a great rest of your Thursday dear friends!

    Wednesday, June 22, 2011

    woah. information overload?

Are you ready for an INFORMATION OVERLOAD? good. because there is a TON of stuff that I have to tell you.

    First off - THE WEDDING.

It was SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I loved every minute of the day of her wedding. And really, the days leading up to her wedding weren't that stressful, so that was good. Seeing my family was so fabulous. I love my family. I loved having them here in Utah. It was great times. I still can't believe my sister is married, but it is very happy so I'm okay with that.

    NEXT: the show.

It was chaos. Like always. My students did fabulous, but the back stage managing was all over the place and insanely crazy busy. I was on my feet basically all day - until I took over calling the show at one point. Seriously, the day was VERY long and I almost died. But then I didn't.

    Another THING:

Remember how I was auditioning for AIDA? Well...The audition went fairly well. I know that I wasn't the best singer, but man alive I danced my heart out. My good friend auditioned too which was excited! Well...I got an email an I MADE THE ENSEMBLE!!! I am SUPER DUPER excited about it all. In fact, I have my first rehearsal in just a short while. (Also, my friend who auditioned? She made it too!!!)

    A BOY thing -

So....Grizzly Bear is still kind of in the same place.  He texts me...but we've been on like one date. sigh. some boys.

PERCY on the other hand....he is INCREDIBLE.  He called me on Sunday, but we got interrupted by my sister and her husband. I called him back, but he didn't answer. He texted me Monday morning to apologize and see if I was available for lunch - which I totally was! However, I realized that i was wearing the SAME outfit I had worn on our first date! I totally came home and changed (just don't tell him that...). We went out to eat at my favorite Thai restaurant right across the street from where I work. We had the most pleasant time.  Also, we set aside time for our THIRD date. I am excited for our third date. The last time I had one of those well...we all remember the Fryman situation.. Anyways, we communicated via text message late Monday evening and it was suggested that we'll go Canoeing and on a picnic. I am rather STOKED by is suggestion, we'll see if that's what we really do or not. Regardless I really like Percy and I'm very excited to spend more time with him.

BASICALLY, this "summer" (aka the tie when I don't teach ballet) seems to be going EXTREMELY well and it just might be one of my favorite summers yet. I'm not counting any chicks yet, but I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed. ;)

Hopefully none of your brains fried with all that info. I hope I didn't forget anything. Any Questions??  ;)

    Friday, June 17, 2011

and just when i thought i could take a break.....

first off, i'm sure you are all waiting with baited breath on an update on the wedding. well. you're going to have to wait. my weekend is just as crazy as the past 5 days have been and i barely have time to breathe, let a lone blog. :P I promise to update you. For now, know that it was a BEAUTIFUL ceremony, a WONDERFUL reception, and overall a glorious time.

second off, I'm still running around with my head cut off. I auditioned tonight for Aida - I'm not sure they loved my voice, but they saw all my dance experience and told me to definitely be at the dance audition tomorrow morning. I figure this - even if I don't get a singing role, now they know my face so I'm one step ahead all of the other dancers that they have never seen before. Here's hoping I really can dance!! ha ha ha hah.

third off, immediately from the audition tomorrow morning I'm off to spend the ENTIRE day at the Covey Center. Yay for four ballet shows in one day!! yeah right. My poor girls have to be there at 9 am - the same time as my audition. Luckily I have a co-director that can be there at the beginning and I'll get there later. joys.

Finally just so you know....Grizzly Bear and I are still friends and flirting, but I had to tell him that we had to not kiss anymore while I figure out my emotions. He said he's okay with this. I hope he really is.....in the meantime I can't stop thinking about Percy. Percy texted me Monday. I haven't heard from him since, but he's supposed to call me on Sunday. I am VERY excited about that phone call. I just have to get through tomorrow + my solo in church on Sunday. Here goes...hopefully I'm still alive by Monday!!!

    Good Things and Bad Things

Hi Guys. Guess what? It's almost the weekend!!! Huzzah for that! Anyways, I'm full of all sorts of things today so here goes..

    • Good thing: Sister B found shoes for her wedding. HUZZAH!
    • Bad thing: I have not found shoes for the wedding. :( granted, i have 7 more weeks to figure that out.
    • Good thing: we talked LOTS of wedding things and are sort of getting somewhere?
    • Bad thing: there is still SO MUCH to do and only 7 WEEKS until the big day! (FROM TODAY!)
    • Good thing: rehearsal got changed on Saturday so my whole day won't be spent at the studio
    • Bad thing: I have no plans for this weekend. I want plans.
    • Good thing: because I have no plans I MIGHT be able to get my house clean! It was so clean a month ago after I did my Spring Cleaning Extravaganza...it needs some help again.
    • Good thing: I haven't eaten any sweets (yay no sugar diet!) since Monday. I'm awesome.
    • Bad thing: work is stressing me out (new system is going to KILL me!) and I REALLY wish I could eat my weight in chocolate right now.
    • Good thing: I look cute today.
As you can see, the good things definitely outweigh the bad...and in the meantime I am trying to live by this motto:

    Tired Thursday Things

    • I am oh so very tired. I forget how much putting together a show can take it out of me. I am starting to get sick and my sinuses are attacking me. Stupid sinuses.
    • I washed my bedding yesterday and it finished in the dryer right before bedtime. Therefore, I had a nice warm and toasty bed when I went to sleep. This was AWESOME. I wish I could find the energy to do that more often, but I hate making my bed after washing all of my sheets and stuff.
    • I must admit that I've been on a dating website the past couple of weeks and I've been talking to a few guys from said website. I am meeting one of the guys tomorrow. We became facebook friends the other day and this guy is NOT attractive. :( Hopefully the date goes in such a way that I can put him off without being too mean.
    • Another guy from said dating website has been emailing me and he sent me some pictures. He is super cute. We'll see where that goes.
    • I have season tickets to Ballet West and the next ballet is next Saturday, February 12. They are performing Sleeping Beauty. I am so thrilled to go see this. I'm calling Sweetums tomorrow to ask him to come with me. I haven't seen him in a month and haven't really talked to him in several weeks. It makes me sad. Here's hoping he doesn't already have plans for next weekend.
    • I made a dentist appointment yesterday. I hate the dentist. However, I think I have picked a really good one. We'll see after the appointment in a couple of weeks.
    • I won my work's wellness program for January. I won a one-hour massage. I am going to use it after I go to the dentist.
    • I have fun plans for my sister's birthday next week and I'm really excited to celebrate with her.
    • Also, I am really excited to not have to worry about cleaning choreography for a month or so. We'll start to learn June's choreography in March, but until then it will just be class and training. Good times.
I think that's everything that I have thought about in the past few days. It's probably not and I'm really tired so I don't really feel like my brain is functioning at full capacity these days. Have a good Thursday y'all.

Tender Mercy Tuesday - Performance Edition

Today's Tender Mercies are all about dancing. I am so blessed to still have dance as a part of my life. I love it so much and even though I am not always the one on stage, the rewards of seeing my girls put their best effort forward and come out on the otherside different people make my heart burst with joy.

My students are amazing. They have worked so hard these past few months and they look marvelous on stage. I love each of them so much and getting to work with them from week to week and see the mass improvements they have made is incredible.

"To touch, to move, to inspire. This is the true gift of dance." - Aubrey Lynch

I am also oh so very grateful for the tender mercy of being able to perform again. Dancing these past few weeks and learning this choreography has been a healing balm for my soul.

"To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak." - Hopi Indian Saying
That quote above perfectly describes how I feel during the piece I am in. Dancing this peace is me letting my heart speak. If you don't have anything going on tonight be sure to stop by the Covey Center and see many beautiful moments. Have a great day y'all!

    Pointe Counterpointe

Alrighty guys. Two weeks from today I am making my (big) comeback!! I am performing in Academy of Ballet's gala show - Pointe Counterpionte.

This performance is on January 31st and February 1st at 7pm. Yes, I know it is a Monday/Tuesday which is a little odd...but it doesn't mean you can't come! Dates can be ANY night of the week! Or better still, bring your FHE group/family. :o)

Anyways. Details. You can purchase tickets through the Covey Center's website, go to their office, or give them a holler on the telephone. Tickets are $8 for the balcony and $10 for the Mezzanine/Floor. If you are a student/senior, you get $2 off.

Now, you might be asking why you should come to this performance in downtown cougartown at the end of the month.  Let me give you 5 REALLY good reasons.
    1. You get to see me perform on stage for the first time in 2+ years. The piece I am in is amazing. It's a director's piece and we've been working so hard on it. So come.
    2. You get to see my amazing contemporary piece. This piece is really cool. Seriously, it's one of the coolest things I have ever choreographed. It was hard for me to choreograph and VERY much outside of my box - but it's turned out so cool!
    3. It is not ALL ballet! In fact there are quite a few contemporary, modern, and jazz pieces in the show!
    4. You also get to see my take on the classic Waltz of the Flowers dance. Shorter than the original, this piece is just aesthetically pleasing.
    5. Did I mention you get to see me dance? I am really excited about this and I would love to have a TON of friends come and support me. Especially seeing how my family lives so far away these days.
So there you go. 5 pretty darn good reasons why you should plan on attending Pointe Counterpointe this year. I hope you come! :o)

    Monday Marvels

Well, internets, it's been a long time since I've done a Monday Marvels post. And as I sit at my desk I can't think of anything super marvelous going on right now.

Besides the beautiful sunshine that is shining in through the windows.

And the yummy treats I made for BU2 for V-day.

Speaking of V-day, what are all y'all doing to celebrate? SwingKid and I aren't really doing anything big. Just hanging out and probably making dinner or cookies or something.

what's marvelous in your life right now?
