So....it's been a while since I've posted any kind of Dating Battle Story. I'm sorry. I really am. Life is just crazy busy and I just haven't taken the TIME to blog about it! So let's do a little catch-up since the last go around shall we?
So I mentioned in a Thursdsay Things post that Tron got a girlfriend that wasn't me. So yeah, that happened.
I went on a date with a boy from my ward and then I met someone online. We're going to call this dude the Argonaut. Anyways, the Argonaut called me last night to ask me to come to a game night/steak dinner night at his place tomorrow night. Unfortunately, I already had plans to go to a concert thing by Sweetums and friends and since I haven't seen him in ages (or others in his band that I know) and I want to support the cause the are playing for...I told Argonaut no. He was sad, but we made plans to make dinner together next Thursday night.
As mentioned yesterday I asked out Norsnob to go to Ballet West with me. I'm in the process of trying to find a really awesome, adventurous restaurant to eat at - so if you have any suggestions for something in the Salt Lake area I would gladly appreciate it.
My best friend Truit and her husband were over at my house last week and while chit-chatting it was decided that Truit's husband was going to set me up with his classmate. We're probably going to double next weekend. Should be fun times, I think. Blind dates are always interesting - but he sounds cool so I'm all over that.
So there you go. My interesting dating life as we know it. I'm still using the internet - although I'm not sure I'll renew my subscription to ldssingles....but who knows. Maybe? Until the next date happens...keep flirting! :o)

Dating Battle Stories: Intro to Tron
It's time for another introduction my dear friends. Today I am introducing you to Tron. Tron is the guy I met through an internet dating site. (I have made mention of him here and here). I was impressed first by his profile and second by the answers to the questions from the "guided communication" process said internet dating site offered. Soon Tron and I were emailing back and forth on a fairly regular basis.
A little over a week ago Tron asked if I would like to meet in real life and I said I would. We made arrangements to meet at a local Chili's. (one of my favorite places to eat!) So on Friday I got all cute and stuff and headed out to meet my first ever "match" from a dating website.
To say I had fun would be an understatement. The whole evening (aka dinner) was so much fun! Tron and I totally clicked and enjoyed tons of conversation and story trading. There was never an awkward moment. This guy is definitely grounded, confident, and solid. (Plus he's totally cute. :o) ) He gave me two hugs - one at the beginning of our date and one at the end. He's taller than me when I wear heels. A definite plus.
So after said dinner date, Tron walked me to my car and as we near my car he asked me if I would like to do "this" again sometime. I told him "I would love to." He then gave me my 2nd hug of the evening and off we went on our separate ways. Right after I got home I wanted to text him, but my roommate convinced me to hold off until the next day. Instead, she and I went shopping for fabric for my costumer for my birthday party and while we were out, Tron texted me! I waited a bit before I read and responded (I had to focus on my costume - the store was closing soon!) but it was nice to have him make first contact after the date.
Then Monday night I got a phone call from....you guessed it! Tron! He called to see how I was doing since we had seen each other and we made small talk and what not for several minutes. He then asked me when I would be available this weekend and I told him Saturday. He told me he hadn't planned anything yet because it would depend on what night I was free. Tron said he'd call me later this week to finalize plans. :o)
THEN! (I know, isn't this a great story?!) I was on Facebook last night after my workout at the gym and I noticed Tron was online. I debated starting a conversation with him, but decided to wait. I'm so glad I did because he started a conversation with me! We talked for a good 45 minutes or so about all sorts of things. I flirted hard core and he flirted back! He and I have talked about our interests and one of his is Soccer. I know nothing about soccer and he knows that. At one point in our conversation we got talking about Real Salt Lake. I guess they played a game last night and I asked when the season opened and what not. Well, I tried to be all excited about it, but he totally called me on it since I know nothing about soccer. :o) I told him that's because I've never had anyone to indoctrinate me. Tron then said, "Well, I'll be your indoctrinator if you want." I told him that I would like that. (see...flirty!) Anyways, he shared a link with me on an awesome soccer play under the guise that it would be my first in our lecture series. ha ha ha. This kid is great.
I'm a huge fan of Tron. He's been so nice and wonderful just in general! Our date Friday was honestly one of the BEST first dates I have ever been on and I am in major twitterpation mode. Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to my date with him on Saturday night. sigh. I'm liking this whole dating business. It's treating me fairly well. :o) Stay tuned for future updates! It should be good times. ;)

Dating Battle Stories: Mad Dog
Time for another Dating Battle Stories Recap!!! Today's receap is all about my great guy friend, Mad Dog. Some of you might recognize the name Mad Dog, and not just from the introductions I did at Christmastime. Mad Dog and I met swing dancing about 2ish years ago. I went to his birthday party once.
Anyways, shortly after SwingKid broke up with me Mad Dog and I were conversing on Facebook. (sidenote: I do a lot of chatting with friends on Facebook, but this doesn't mean that I am on Facebook ALL THE TIME. ok? ok.) Anyways, because I didn't make a big to-do about my sudden single-ness he hadn't heard the news. I told him and we talked like friends tend to do. He's an awesome friend and a few days later sent me a text. We texted back and forth a little bit and it ended with him asking me if I'd like to go hot tubbing with him at his place. Would I ever! I agreed and a time was set upon and I drove over to his place to begin our adventure.
Unfortunately, hot tubbing wasn't meant to be as the hot tub was broken because some dork put detergent in it. Don't ask me why someone would do that...it's just mean. Mad Dog and I chilled in his apartment talking about stuff and ended up watching Inception with his roommate. It was a fun evening and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. (later that night I ended up hanging out with the Australian it was a very late night.)
About a week later - just a few days before I flew to see my family - I invited Mad Dog over to watch a movie at my place. We watched some awful movie with a very young Jude Law in it. That was the only good part about the movie. It was awful.
Mad Dog is a very big flirt. Which tends to work well for me, because I am a very big flirt as well. :o) It always leads to fun times. He's also extremely ticklish. One of the most ticklish guys I know! That is also great because I am so ticklish and I don't think it's fair when I try to retaliate and boys just sit and stare at me. sigh.
Anyways. Mad Dog and I chatted a little bit while I was in Virginia and when I got back we decided to hang out! So the first Sunday in January he came over to my place and we talked, watched Anastasia and just chilled in my living room.
Mad Dog is a great friend and I am SO GLAD he and I can hang out and stuff. It makes my heart happy to have a friend to do things with. I'm sure he'll make a few more appearances in this segment....but we'll wait and see.

Thursday Things
Welcome to the second addition of ..... {drum roll}
Today's things are brought to you from a sleep deprived Alishka Babushka. I've been trying to find my wings again in the single world and be the social butterfly I know I can be each and every day. (that sounded so cheesy.) I think I'm doing fairly well if I do say so myself. (I still miss SwingKid. someday I'll write about my experience, but I'm not ready yet to do that here.)
Anyways. let's get on with the things of today shall we?

- Sweaters are warm when it is cold outside. But by the late afternoon it's way too hot in my office to be wearing a sweater. sigh.
- I get to DANCE and PERFORM again! YAY! Most of the directors from the studio I teach at are going to do a director's piece. I am so so so excited at this opportunity to dance again! I'll keep you posted on ticket buying and stuff, because let's be honest...you're gonna want to see me dance!
- Tomorrow is my day off. This makes me happy.
- I have more stories. I really need to just be brave enough to tell them....once I get a certain thing from my roommate then I will create another meme. Maybe. :o)
