R.I.P.

Senor Guapo passed emissions yesterday. But he failed safety. His brakes need help, the windshield needs help, there are some kind of power arms that need replacing...all in all, with labor, we're talking $840.39. More than Poor Senor Guapo is worth, trust me.

So where does that leave me? That leaves me with some car shopping to do. doesn't that sound exciting? in some ways, yes it does....in others NO!!!

I don't want to grow up and be old enough to have a car payment. It just doesn't sound like any fun at all. In fact, in many ways I am not looking forward to car shopping. My coworker D* said she'd have her husband (a mechanic) take a look and see if he can fix it for cheap, but I'm just not sure I want to put any more money into this car. I'll probably just buy a newer car.

Buying a new car is also not fun because my credit union doesn't want to give me an auto loan (they're being stupid. I have excellent credit.) I know that i'll be able to get one from a dealer, I'd just rather not. although, from what I understand, the economy is such that I'll probably be able to get a really good deal on a newish car. I've never had a car that's younger than me, so it will be fun. I think. maybe. we'll see.....

if you have any suggestions on where to go to get a car in Utah County, or what kind of cars you've had the best experience with...please let me know! Thanks a billion!

etsy....

lots of people use etsy. I don't always understand etsy, but what I do understand is that my brilliant mother has opened her very own etsy store for her marvelous jewelry. Briarlyhill jewelry is unique, one-of-a-kind, handmade sterling silver jewelry based off of stones my great-grandfather cut himself. It's pretty much incredible and at decent prices too!

So, go check it out! If you don't see something you want in particular, just contact my dear, sweet mother and she'll custom make something for you and your style!!

It can be motivation for anything. I just wanna know...what does it for YOU?

New Things!!!

What girl doesn't like new things? I mean really? New things just make us happy! Here is a list of new things I get on a fairly regular basis that make me happy.

  • razors - new razors are fabulous. They are nice and sharp so they give you a nice close shave. also, they look pretty because they haven't been in your shower for who knows how long. :-)
  • contacts - not every girl gets to experience this, but I am one of them. New contacts are great. They don't make your eyes itch, the feel clean, and you get them every 2-3 weeks or so. unless you're me and you push the limit...he he he. makes new ones feel EVEN BETTER!!
  • underwear - i love the feeling of new underwear. clean. crisp. mmmm....
  • toothbrush - a new toothbrush is heaven. its bristles are stiff and not broken. yeah, definitely like the new toothbrush feel.
Other new things I like that i don't get as often:
  • haircuts
  • shoes
  • clothes
  • jewelry
what new things do YOU like?

Friday!

It's my last Friday before my lil sister, Sister B, comes to become not only Sister B, but Roommate B as well! YAY!!! I'm so excited!!! Woot!! :-D

Fridayness....

1. All children alarm their parents, if only because you are forever expecting the worst when you hear the screams.

2. Show me a good loser and I will show you a bad winner.

3. eating an entire container of ice cream is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs at one time.

4. Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy in la la land and ignoring the country.

5. I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine _____ and _____. okay. i'm really at a loss on this one. i have zero creativity.

6. It is impossible to think of any good meal, no matter how plain or elegant, without dessert or my friends in (at) it.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a haircut from SwingKid's sister!, tomorrow my plans include basking in the sun (if the rain stays away) and a wedding reception for my really good friend Wiwi Kalawi and Sunday, I want to relax!

hmmm...Thursday!!!

I love thursdays! woot woot!!!

So, yesterday 3 CrAzY things happened.

#1 - I went to the temple (this isn't crazy, just cool) and the guy baptizing me was BLIND! He would have the person being the proxy say the name and he would repeat it during the ordinance. It was really, really cool.

#2 - In the process of driving up to the Yanni Voices concert I went to with Roommate LX (see below) we were on I-15 between 800 N and 1600 N in Orem when this cop car gets on the freeway and starts weaving all over the place! We were kind of freaked out by this and called 911 to tell them that a cop was doing weird things (we didn't know any better) the nice dispatcher told us that the cop was just slowing down traffic for an accident that was just North of 1600 N. Huh, i had no idea that's how it worked! It was really kind of nifty.

#3- YANNI VOICES!!! I got free tickets to the Yanni Voices concert last night and Roommate LX and I drove up to downtown SLC to see it. Man, it was SO SO SO good!! I loved the music and the lights they did to match were incredible. I also loved almost all of the 2 girls' dresses. They were gorgeous.

It's been a busy week, but I'm excited for the weekend. SwingKid's sister is cutting my hair tomorrow and I'm excited to see what it looks like when all is said and done.

Friday, friday, friday....

I can't wait for this weekend to be over so that i don't have to worry about the show anymore.

2. YouTube (getting caught up on SYTYCD...) was the last website I was at before coming here.

3. Why don't you leave, raining weather? I love you and all....but I want my sunshine back!

4. ice cream, cuddling, and a cheesy Disney movie helps me relax.

5. Thanks for the great year BU2! You are AWESOME!!!

a long week awaits...

so. this week is going to be a LONG one. like, extremely long. in fact, i can hardly wait for this week/weekend to come and go. Then life will change a little bit and that will be nice. VERY nice.

This week I get to:
  • work 4/5 days at my customer service job
  • have an all day dress rehearsal on hump day (that day will definitely be a hate day)
  • go to 2 wedding receptions and take my friend to the airport
  • run 4 shows in one day
  • crash after the 4 shows
  • get my car inspected so i can register it
  • get an oil change
  • go on a date with SwingKid (when? i have no idea....)
add to that trying to keep myself emotionally stable while doing the above mentioned items. eek. i'm sorry if you don't hear from me for the next little while...i'm going to be a busy beaver.

First Friday

in June! yay! my life has been a flood of emotions for the past week. I really haven't felt like posting much (you should be grateful I posted on Tuesday at all...). I'm not going to go into details here, it's much to personal to be sharing with the entire world. Suffice it to say that if I actually remembered to buy Kleenix...I would have bought out the entire store. The store should be happy I can never remember to buy kleenix.

Anywho. enough about my emotional roller coaster that i'm not talking about right now...and on to Friday Fill-ins!

1. sometimes, I just really want to be at home.

2. My favorite thing for dinner lately has been dinner? um....i think that sometimes i forget to make dinner...so i eat random items at home. maybe eating right would help the emotional roller coaster - make mental note to fix that.

3. a dog says: bark! bark! bark! (okay...so this one was rather lame-o. i mean really? blank bark! bark! bark!? what were you thinking??)

4. A nice long walk provides for the opportunity to have long conversations.

5. i could use some good news.

6. When all is said and done, everything will be right in the world

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to making muffins for my ballet girls and posters to tell them where to go, tomorrow my plans include 12-hours at M* High School for an all-day dress rehearsal :P and Sunday, I want to find some answers!

pain

Back in February (Friday the 13th to be exact) I tore my MCL.

On Friday (the 29th), i did a leap and my knee popped and buckled underneath myself and I hurt it all over again. I just finished meeting with the trainer and he told me that the MCL is a little lax again (not as bad) i have 3/4 of an inch of swelling (not good) and possible meniscus problems. (definitely NOT good). We're hoping to know more as the swelling goes down.

I don't think I'll be performing in 1.5 weeks......eek.
